Violetta Cataldo

Violetta Cataldo is Post-doctoral Researcher at the University Federico II, Italy. 


In 2023 she completed her PhD in Linguistics jointly supervised by the University of Salerno (Italy) and the Ghent University (Belgium). Her research project focused on the intonational differences among geographically closely related varieties of Italian.


Her main research themes concern language contact, prosodic transfer, and the phonetics and phonology of Italian intonation. Since 2016 she took part to different research projects, including "Cultural Heritage Resources Orienting Multimodal Experiences" (CHROME; PRIN 2015) conducting speech data collection and analysis, and linguistic annotation on phonetic, syllabic and prosodic levels.
