The Ranks
Any citizen over the age of 15 can get a rank within the principality. The ranks are divided into three categories: the government, the garrison and other. Prince, princely advisor, patron are government ranks. Adjutant, landowner and ambassador are other ranks and the rest are garrison ranks.
Prince & Princess
The prince and princess work as chiefs of the government, the brigadier general and the ambassador(s).
Princely Advisor
The princely advisor’s tasks are to work as a spokesman for the princes and to, without any political influence, advise them and give the princes different points of view in situations. The princely advisor can, by the princes command, temporarily be in charge of the principality when the princes cannot. There can only be one princely advisor.
Work tasks may include the following:
- Giving the princes advice and different views on different matters.
- Temporary running the principality when the princes are unable to.
- Speaking for the prince or princess when they are unable to do so themselves.
Adjutant
The adjutant’s task is to assist the prince in different situations. There can be more than one adjutant.
Patron
The patron’s task is to be the head of an assigned region or building within the principality. Patrons are landowners that run their plot as a municipality of Pigeon Island. The patron may become colonel if they wish. There can only be one patron per region or building.
Work tasks may include the following:
- Overseeing infrastructure, population, flora and fauna within the region.
- Advertising the region.
Field Marshal
The field marshal's task is to plan tactics and defences together with the brigadier general. The field marshal is also the leader of a battle.
Brigadier General
The brigadier general’s task is to be chief of the colonels, make sure the prince is aware of the state of the garrison and to take care of the garrison. There can only be one brigadier general.
Work tasks may include the following:
- Oversee the work done by the colonels.
- Planning defences.
- Planning garrison gatherings.
- Planning tactics prior to battles.
- Overseeing the economy and equipment of the garrison.
- Proposing recommendations to the prince of what is needed to be purchased to the garrison.
- Advertising the garrison.
- Informing the prince of the state of the garrison.
Colonel
The colonel is the chief of the regiment. The colonel’s tasks are to enrol new personnel and promote personnel when needed. There can only be one colonel for each regiment.
Work tasks may include the following:
- Enrolling and documenting new personnel.
- Advertising the regiment.
- Hosting regimental gatherings.
- Informing the brigadier general of the state of the regiment.
Lieutenant
The lieutenant is the second in command of the regiment after the colonel. The lieutenant’s task is to work as a squad leader. There cannot be more than 6 enrolled under each lieutenant.
Work tasks may include the following:
- Hosting regimental gatherings by the colonel's command.
- Being in control of the safety during events.
Fireworker
The fireworker’s job is to carry out tasks under the colonel’s or brigadier general’s command.
Work tasks may include the following:
- Handling and shooting rockets.
- Handling fire-bottles.
- Protecting the borders of the principality.
Guardsman
The guardsman's job is to carry out tasks under the colonel’s or brigadier general’s command.
Work tasks may include the following:
- Handling and shooting spring rifles.
- Handling fire-bottles.
- Protecting the borders of the principality.
Ambassador
The ambassador's tasks are to build the principality’s reputation and represent the principality in other nations. There can be more than one ambassador for each country.
Work tasks may include the following:
- Advertising the principality
Landowner
A landowner is an owner of a smaller plot of land on Pigeon island. The landowners pay taxes each month to keep the plot. Landowners can have things built on the plot. But the landowner then needs to pay for the costs of material and the build needs to be accepted by the government. Landowners can become a lieutenant.
