Fall 2024
For this Fall 2024 semester community service project, Pre-Physician Assistant Society (PPAS) partnered with The Cupcake Girls to help gather support survivors of sex trafficking. We are honored to announce the successful distribution of many toy items and almost $400 in monetary donations. We would like to give appreciation to our PPAS members for their kind donations and contributions to support the community around them.
Spring 2024
We are proud to announce the successful delivery of a $300 donation to HELP of Southern Nevada’s Shannon West Homeless Youth Center (SWHYC) as part of our Spring 2024 community service project. SWHYC offers essential support to at-risk youth aged 16-24, including safe housing, basic needs, educational assistance, and mental health services. This contribution reflects our commitment to community engagement and support for vulnerable populations. We extend our sincere gratitude to all who contributed to this initiative, helping to make a positive impact in the lives of these young individuals.
Fall 2023
We are delighted share that the Pre-Physician Assistant Society (PPAS) has contributed care packages to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission. These contributions include essential non-food items such as travel-sized personal care kits, lip balm, disposable razors, pajamas, new underwear, baby wipes, and cleansing wipes, as well as food packages with acceptable items. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all PPAS members for their generous donations and commitment to supporting those in need within our community.
Fall 2022 - Hygiene Kits
This semester, PPAS partnered with The Shade Tree of Las Vegas to create hygiene kits for women and children in need. The Shade Tree is the largest shelter of its kind in the state of Nevada, offering shelter, education, and acute medical care to women and children in need. We were able to gather a total of 335 items for this project. Thank you to all PPAS members who were able to donate, and make a difference in our community!
This semester, we diligently worked to make a difference for the needs of local women and their children. That being said, our Shade Tree Project was a huge success! We were able to gather 1,703 items in total for this project. We would like to give a huge thanks to our awesome PrePAS members for making this possible!
Our community outreach project this semester was a success! We were successfully able to partner with Touro Mobile Healthcare Clinic to donate hygeine products to the underserved community. Thank you to everyone who helped in the collection and distribution of hygiene kits! We are so grateful for this opportunity to give back to our community!
Our goal is to provide members with opportunities to make a difference in the underserved communities of Las Vegas. In Spring 2020, our members created 96 hygiene kits for those in need, and we collaborated with various pre-health organizations, as well as Touro Nevada's Mobile Healthcare Clinic, to distribute them to the community!
