Just as we teach our children how to ride a bike, we need to teach them how to navigate social media and make the right moves that will help them. The physical world is similar to the virtual world in many cases. It's about being aware. We can prevent many debacles if we're educated. ~ Amy Jo Martin
Teens spend at least 9 hours a day on social media states the Washington Post in a 2015 article written by Hayley Tsukayama. Therefore, much of teens interactions with other teens, or people in general, is more likely to happen on a social media platform. Social media allows teens to encounter people all over the world. With such accessibility, the risk of teens being exposed to Internet dangers increases with more time spent on devices.
Furthermore, exchanges on the social media platforms occur in a space where they can be captured in time and affect a teen's admittance to a program or have a negative impact on career later in life. Hence, Prepare 2 Adult is committed to helping participants avoid the pitfalls of social media and inspiring them to use it as a tool to promote positive ideology, marketing products, or raising awareness around issues of concern.
