The aim of this project was to develop a proof-of-concept mobile counter-drone system capable of operating in both the ultraviolet and infrared spectrum, suitable for deployment in open and closed environments. The project focused on creating a versatile solution that could detect and neutralize drone threats under diverse conditions, addressing the growing need for enhanced aerial security. The system’s architecture integrated computer vision, deep learning, and serial communication protocols, to ensure high performance, accuracy and high speed communication with the micro-controller. We deployed the entire system on Nvidia Jetson Xavier NX, which provided the computational power necessary for real-time processing and decision-making.
The system underwent rigorous testing and optimization across varied geographies to ensure its robustness and adaptability to different terrains and environmental conditions. Upon successful completion of the development and testing phases, the system was handed over to the Indian Army for further evaluation and deployment. However, due to the sensitive nature of its application and its strategic importance, detailed technical specifications and implementation details of the system remain confidential and are not shared publicly.
