Prof. Dr. Joberto S. B. Martins (UNIFACS) - PPGCOMP Coordinator

Professor at Salvador University (UNIFACS) and PhD in Computer Science at Université Pierre et Marie Curie - UPMC, Paris (1986). International Professor at HTW - Hochschule für Techknik und Wirtschaft des Saarlandes (Germany) since 2004, Senior Research Period at Université of Paris-Saclay in 2016, Salvador University head and researcher at NUPERC and IPQoS  research groups on Resource Allocation Models, Machine Learning,  Software Defined Networking - OpenFlow, Smart Cities, Smart Grid and Cognitive Management. Previously worked as Invited Professor at Université Paris VI and Institut National des Télécommunications (INT) in France and as key speaker, teacher and invited lecturer in various congresses and institutions in Brazil and Europe.

Prof. Dr.  Artur Henrique Kronbauer 

Ph.D. in Computer Science, in the area of Human-Computer Interaction at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA - 2013), Master in Informatics, in the area of Computer Networks at the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB - 1998) and graduated in Computer Science by the Regional University of the Northwest of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (UNIJUÍ - 1993). He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the State University of Bahia (UNEB) and an Adjunct Professor at the University Salvador (UNIFACS). Member of the faculty of the Graduate Program in Systems and Computing (PPGCOMP - UNIFACS) and the faculty of the Professional Masters in Management and Technology Applied to Education (GESTEC - UNEB). His areas of interest are: Human-Computer Interaction, Usability for Mobile Devices, User eXperience, Natural Interactions, Ubiquitous and Pervasive Computing, Informatics in Education.

Profa. Dra.  Ana Patrícia Magalhães 

Ph.D. in Computer Science and M.Sc. in Mechatronics at the Federal University of Bahia, she is a professor at Salvador University (UNIFACS) where is part of the PPGCOMP faculty in the M.Sc. Program in Computer Science. Her research focuses on software engineering, specifically in Model Diven Development (MDD), Domain-Specific Languages, Interoperability, Systems os Systems (SoS), and Agile Development Processes. She is also a professor at the State University of Bahia and a member of ACSO (Computer Architecture and Operational Systems), where develops researches on software engineering applied to service robotics. 

Prof. Dr.  Éldman de Oliveira Nunes

Professor at Salvador University (UNIFACS) and PhD and Master in Computer Science at Fluminense Federal University (UFF, Brazil). Post-doctoral research in image processing at Computer Science Department of Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC, Spain). Prof. Dr.  Glauco de Figueiredo Carneiro 

Glauco de Figueiredo Carneiro holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), an MSc in Computer Science from Salvador University (UNIFACS), and a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). In 2016/2017, he was a pos-doc researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) in the United States. He is currently a full Professor at the Department of Computer Science of Salvador University (UNIFACS) in Salvador-Bahia, Brazil.

Prof. Dr.  Jorge Alberto Prado de Campos  

PhD in Spatial Information Science and Engineering at University of Maine, USA. His research interests include Mobile Computing, Location Based Services, Geoprocessing, Crowdsourcing/Crowdsensing, and Computer Vision.

Prof. Dr.  Paulo Caetano da Silva  

Professor at Master Systems and Computing at Salvador University (UNIFACS), analyst at Central Bank of Brazil and PhD and master’s in computer science at Pernambuco Federal University (UFF, Brazil). Post-doctoral research in Auditing and financial information systems at Continuous Auditing & Reporting Lab (Rutgers University, USA).

Prof. Dr.  Paulo Nazareno Maia Sampaio  

Paulo Nazareno Maia Sampaio is part of the PPGCOMP faculty in the M.Sc. Program in Computer Science at Universidade Salvador (UNIFACS). He carried out his PhD studies in Informatics and Telecommunication at Université Paul Sabatier (Toulouse III), and his PhD project was developed at Laboratory of Analysis and Architecture of Systems (LAAS-CNRS) in Toulouse (France). He was recipient of a Fulbright and CAPES post-doc scholarship visiting and teaching at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (USA). He has published several scientific papers in international conferences and journals. Also he has actively participated in Scientific Committees of international conferences and journals. Among his research interests are: the design and development of Distributed Multimedia Systems, Virtual/Augmented Reality and Context-Awareness systems.

Prof. Dr. Rodrigo Spínola 

Prof. Rodrigo Spínola is a Professor of Computer Science at Salvador University where he leads the Technical Debt Research Team (www.tdresearchteam.com). He holds PhD and MS degrees from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. From 2011 to 2012, he was a visiting researcher at the University of Maryland Baltimore County and the Fraunhofer Center for Experimental Software Engineering. As a professor with broad experience in Software Engineering research and industry, Prof. Rodrigo has researched technical debt in software projects since his Post-Doc. Currently, he is considered a leader in the area in the whole of Latin America. Moreover, he was recently cited by a study published in the Journal of Systems & Software as one of the Top 10 Most Impactful Software Engineering Researchers at the "Consolidators" Level. This is in part due to his productivity in terms of disseminated papers (about 87 in total) in high-impact venues. His papers have been cited more than 1880 times and the annual number of citations is growing (391 citations in the last year). His current h-index is 23. Currently, Prof. Rodrigo has close cooperation with researchers from several institutions around the globe. Earlier this year (2021), he received the Research Productivity Distinction Grant from the Brazilian National Research Council (PQ Level 2).

Prof. Dr.  Sergio Martins Fernandes  

Ph.D. in Computer Engineering at the University of São Paulo (USP, 2013). Master’s in digital systems at the University of São Paulo (USP, 2002). Electrical Engineer at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA, 1985). Member of the PPGCOMP faculty in the M.Sc. Program in Computer Science, the primary practice area is Software Engineering, focusing on Model-Driven Development (DDM) for Internet of Things (IoT) solution, Domain-Specific Languages, agile software development processes, and software process management.

Josiane da Silva Souza Melo (PPGCOMP Secretary)

Josiane da Silva Souza Melo is secretary of the M.Sc. Program in Computer Science at Universidade Salvador (UNIFACS). Master in Regional Development by UNIFACS (2019); Specialist in Regional Analysis, by UNIFACS (2017); Degree in Administration by Faculdade de Tecnologia e Ciências (2008).
