(After V34) Advance Holes
When you have to draw a hole in a 3D part, BobCAD will now allow you to apply properties to the drilling operations. This feature will enable our CAM system to program the holes automatically, and you can modify the hole properties and position at any point.
Hole Recognition:
BobCAD CAM uses solid model geometry information to identify and categorize the drilling operations in the model. In other words, it will know if the solid model has a counterbore, the size and depth of the hole, and the size and depth of the counterbore. This feature works with native and imported solid models.
Power Statement:
Whatever time your drilling programming process took you, it should take you no more than 2 minutes with our Hole Recognition feature.
(After V34) Corner Slowdown:
When you program your mill or router, you probably use only one feed rate for the whole program, right?
Although this is common practice, there are better options for your tool and machine.
BobCAD identifies the direction changes in your toolpath and gives you the power to decelerate before the tool reaches the corner. This will reduce the vibration and chatter. It will also allow you to increase the feed rate for the rest of the part, drastically reducing your machining runtime.
Everyone is able to see how this will help your programming and, most importantly, your machining run time.
Power Statement:
Shops can expend up to 100k or more a year on tooling if I can reduce that cost by at least 15%. This feature alone will pay for the software tenfold.
(After V31) Minimize Retracts
Now, BobCAD CAM will keep the tool down, eliminating unnecessary retractions to clearance. If you were using your BobCAD , I know this would have been your problem.
