IBDP students at ISM must study a second language other than English. This can either be as a mother tongue (Language A - see Group 1) or as Language Acquisition (Language B). Students who are new to ISM and may have never studied a second language before may be given the option to study an introductory foreign language (Ab Initio) This is not available for students who have studied the language in question previously.
For many students at ISM, language is a great strength, and they may even want to take 3 languages at IB level. This is possible with some combinations in the Block 7 option group.
