AGL data and Airspaces

AGL data and Airspaces file can only be downloaded using a torrent link. You need a torrent client in order to download the whole data, which weights around 10GB!!. You can download the torrent link here. Once the folder is downloaded, you have to transfer the files contained inside the folder to a memory card. Note that you will need a 16GB class 10 memory card. After doing this, you can insert the memory card in your Flymaster device.

Live Tracking

For live tracking we need a data enabled SIM card (further explanation in next section 'How to add a SIM card and set up the GSM data') and to register in Flymaster Livetrack website: lt.flymaster.net/bs.php. After you register in Flymaster Livetrack, you have to create a Tracker (each device needs a Tracker). Follow these steps:

1. Click on 'My Account'
2. Click on 'My Trackers'
3. Click on 'Add Tracker' button
4. Fill out the form. The serial number can be found on the switch on screen of the device under SN (top right corner). The IMEI number can be found on the Shutdown menu option of the device
5. Click on 'Register Tracker' when you fill in all the fields

How to add a SIM card and set up GSM

Live tracking will work when we insert a data enabled SIM card and set up the GSM data configuration in our Flymaster device. These are the steps:

1. Obtain a SIM card from your preferred mobile carrier. I got a great plan from my mobile carrier. I only pay for what I use. So if I don't use my Flymaster that month, I'll pay nothing that month. In any case, the data traffic that the Flymaster generates is very low.
2. Deactivate the PIN number of your SIM card. For that insert the SIM card in a mobile phone and deactivate the PIN number using your mobile phone menu options.
3. Insert your 'PIN free' SIM card in your turned off Flymaster Live/GPS SD+ device.

Now that you have an activated SIM card, let's configure the Flymaster to work with it and send data to Flymaster Livetrack server. Turn on your Flymaster and navigate through the menu following these steps:

1. 'Settings'
2. 'GSM data'
3. In the 'APN' field, type the APN of your mobile carrier. If you are not sure, you can check at http://wiki.apnchanger.org/Main_Page.
4. The 'Username' and 'Password' are normally left blank, but you can check that also at the link above.

After you've done this, your Flymaster device is ready to send data to the Flymaster Livetrack server on real time. When you switch on the device, after a few seconds you'll see how the device detects your mobile carrier signal. When you start flying (be sure that 'GSM mode' is ON in the 'GSM data' menu) it will send data packets to the Flymaster Livetrack server with your basic flight information (position, altitude, speed and vertical speed), so you can be tracked on the internet.

How to setup your Flymaster Live/SD+ for sending tracks to LiveTrack24

1. Create an account at LiveTrack24
2. Once created, log in into your Flymaster Livetrack account
3. In you Livetrack account, go to "My Account" -> "My Trackers", and select the tracker you created before by clicking on the green button 'Edit'. If you have not already added your tracker, please follow the instructions in the 'Live Tracking' section of this page.
4. Select the tab 'LT Servers'
5. Click on the button 'Add LiveTracking server'
6. Select 'LiveTrack24' from the drop down menu and type the username and password of your LiveTrack24 account
7. Click on 'Add LT-Server' button

How to send Flymaster tracks manually to LiveTrack24

Sometimes the live tracking feature of the Flymaster device doesn't send the full track or fail completely to do so into your Live Tracking server (in this case LiveTrack24). In order to send the track later on manually from the Flymaster device to your Livetrack24 account, follow these steps:

1. Download the track log from your Flymaster device to your PC (follow the instructions that appear down below: 'Downloadig track logs with GPSDump'. On step 8, choose 'Save log in IGC format' instead of 'Save log as...'
2. Open the downloaded igc file with a text editor and replace all the metada text in the igc file with the following text (note that the format for HFDTE is DDMMYY):

You can now upload the IGC file to your LiveTrack24 account through http://www.livetrack24.com/account/import/

Downloading track logs with GPSDump

1. Download GPSDump from www.gpsdump.no and install it
2. Connect your Flymaster device to the computer via USB port and switch it on
3. Launch GPSDump and set the COM port by clicking on 'Misc' -> 'Set COM Port' from the top menu*
4. Select the port where the Flymaster is connected to the computer
5. Click on the Flymaster button and it will load all tracklogs stored in the Flymaster device
6. Select the tracklog you want to download and click the 'OK' button
7. Select 'Edit' -> 'Select all' from the top menu
8. From the top menu, select 'File' -> 'Save logs as...' the preferred format

* Note that step 3 is only needed the first time GPSDump is installed in the computer

Working with files

In order to update the layout or to download tracks, the device must be switched on.

In order to update the firmware, the device must be switched off.
