Menu 0 SQL
The squelch mute the speaker of the transceiver in the absence of reception. With the squelch level correctly set, you will hear sound only while actually receiving signals and significantly reduces battery current consumption.
The squelch level regulates the sensibility of the receiver. Values range from 0 to 9. The lower the number, the higher the sensibility. When set to 0, it can pick up a lot of static noise. Recommended value is 5.
Menu 2 TXP
There are two transmit power levels: High or Low. A high transmit power sends a stronger signal, but consumes more battery.
High transmit power consumes 4W. Low transmit power consumes 1W.
When low transmit power is selected, the display shows a 'L' letter.
Menu 5 WN
In areas where the RF signals are saturated, you must use the narrow band of transmission to avoid interference in adjacent channels.
You can set the bandwidth to either Narrow or Wide. Narrow reach further, but the quality of the signal degrades. Wide reach shorter, but the quality of the signal improves.
The wide band uses 5kHz and the narrow band uses 2.5kHz.
When wide band is selected, the display will show a 'N' letter.
Menu 7 TDR
Dual reception let you watch both bands shown at the display at the same time, but you can only transmit in the band selected. You can turn dual reception ON or OFF.
When dual reception is ON, the display will show a 'S' letter.
Menu 33 BAND
You can select either VHF or UHF.
VHF (aka 2 meters)
Very High Frequency: 136-174 MHz. VHF frequencies travel farther in open areas with clear line of sight.
In Spain, HAM frequencies ranges from 144 to 146 MHz.
UHF (aka 70 cmts)
Ultra High Frequency: 400-480 MHz. UHF frequencies travel farther in closed areas, forests and urban environment.
In Spain, HAM frequencies ranges from 430 to 440 MHz.
PMR (Personal Mobile Radio)
In Spain, PMR frequencies ranges from 446.006,25 to 446.093,75 MHz.
Dual-band.
DTMF encode.
FM radio receiver (65 MHz ~ 108 MHz).
105 codes 'DCS' and 50 privacy codes 'CTCSS' programmable.
Function VOX (voice operated transmission).
Alarm function.
128 memory channels.
Broadband (Wide) / Narrowband (Narrow), selectable.
High/Low power (4W/1W) selectable.
Dual Watch / dual reception.
Selectable Frequency Steps 2.5/6.25/10/12.5/25 kHz.
Function 'OFFSET' (frequency offset for repeater access).
Battery saving function 'SAVE'.
Timer transmission 'TOT' programmable.
Scan Mode selection.
Function Busy Chaneel Lock 'BCLO'.
Built-in RX CTCSS/DCS scan.

Crossband reception.
Tone end of transmission.
Built-in key lock.
There are 18 frequencies for repeaters in Spain (R0 to R7, in and out frequencies each). This doesn't mean that there are only 8 repeaters in the whole land of Spain. It could be possible to have 13 R2 repeaters in total thorough the country, 11 R1 repeaters and so on.
Press 'VFO/MR' key to change to frequency mode.
Press 'A/B' key to change the band you want to setup the repeater frequency.
Insert the repeater frequency by pressing the numeric keys. In this example is 145.600
Press the key MENU and type '25' to go menu 'SFT-D'
Press the key MENU again to enter the parameter setting.
Press the key ▲ or ▼ to select the symbol '-' (minus/negative).
Press the key MENU to confirm and save.
Press the key EXIT or wait a couple of seconds to exit the menu mode.
Press the key MENU and type '26' to go menu 'OFFSET'
Press the key MENU again to enter the parameter setting.
Insert the value 000.600 by pressing the numeric keys.
Press the key MENU to confirm and save.
Now you are listening in frequency 145.600, but when you press the PTT button, you emit in frequency 145.000
