IED

This is the Introduction to Engineering class here at SSS. I took this class during COVID-19, and it helped set me on the path I am on today.  Due to covid restrictions, most students were A/B Day students but due to my involvement in the fire science program I had to be at school every day to obtain the knowledge from that program. Due to me being at school every day, I got a greater appreciation for the Engineering pathway at SSS.  I would not trade anything for these days and it carried me to where I am now. Just below are some of the projects from this class

In these pictures are some of the sketches I learned how to do in my first PLTW class. On the left is a rough sketch of my first 3-D print project ever which was a charm for a fellow student with dimensions. On the right is three isometric sketches that got me started understanding the CAD (Computer Aided Design)

On the right is an image of a "rice bag" we had to design while online. The design is very simple in the sense I took an already pre-existing bag and simply sowed it shut but the test that determined our quality of success was how far we could throw it without it bursting at the seams. Mine went about 10.5 feet before it stopped because I threw it like a Skeeball.

The picture features the simple game project I made from home. Design-wise it lacks much detail but due to it being made during covid, it had a very interesting . I would have the people playing the game spin the CD and depending on the color that it landed on, they would get to listen to separate genres, and if they knew the song they would win. Green represented country, Blue represented pop music, brown represented classic rock, and grey was "specialized" as it was a mix of sea shanties to funny songs that do not fit into a category.

On the left here was a personal project I created throughout the IED class to give to Mrs. Jenkins for teacher appreciation week. Overall the design came out phenomenal. Incase you cannot tell due to the quality of the picture, it was a jetski.
