To complete this piece, I chose to recreate the look of a winter cabin, as it is a core memory from my childhood. I wanted to convey both the nostalgia and warmth I have when looking back on my memories of a place similar to this cabin, as I believe there are many people with a similar link to imagery like this. I decided to use faded, non-vibrant colours in contrast to the golden yellow light from the cabin to convey a sort of cozy mood that one would get when next to a warm fireplace. I used orange for the cabin to complement the blue of the snow in the backdrop, making it pop into the foreground of the image. For typography, I chose vintage, rounded typography to make the poster look dated and as if it were advertising a place long gone with time. In addition, I removed detail in the trees and water to make the poster look like older travel advertisements, specifically ones that may strike a form of familiarity or nostalgia in the viewer when they see it.Â
