Watch the Flocabulary video on genres of fiction. Highlight any key phrases regarding genre on your lyrics handout.

STOP! Compare your notes with a partner. What did you both notice about the information in the video? What is the most important? Circle the words you both agree on.

Now that we have reviewed the definition of fiction and some of its most commonly read genres, it’s note-taking time! Take notes on the Genres of Fiction notebook page as you walk about the room.
