Police Guidelines - Standing Orders

1. NPCs for police are considered to be like real people. Police must protect all citizens of RelaxedRP including NPCs. If someone is in the server running people over for fun, if you realize they're a new player, please explain to them that you as a Police officer must protect all civilians. Use your discretion on letting them go if they didn't realize this, and they're new to the server. 

2. Never fire unless being fired upon (Exception: a criminal is firing at NPCs, you may eliminate the threat with any means.)

3. Red lights are like stop signs; catch anyone running a red light, pull them over. Officer's discretion whether the person gets a ticket.

4. Police are to follow all traffic laws at all times, unless responding to emergencies with lights and sirens.

5. When Jailing a Criminal, the Minimum sentence is 1 minute, the Maximum sentence is 10 minutes (Subject to change). If the criminal commited a little crime, fun chase, everyone had a good time, just send em for 1 minute. If the criminal mowed down and killed an NPC, killed an officer, all murderers are sentenced to 10 minutes, no exceptions (This max sentence may go up). Major Robbery (Jewerly, Banks, etc) 5 Minute sentence if no killings are involved.

6. Issuing Fines, you may fine a suspect up to a maximum of $10,000 based on the charges they have accumulated. If the charges accumulated is more than 10k, the cap is 10k, do not fine more than $10,000. Only click the FINE button ONCE in the MDT, as this button does work! Don't want to end up sending multiple fines. Fining is up to the officer's discretion.

7. NO CORRUPT COP GAMEPLAY! Meaning, you purposefully sent someone to jail when they haven't committed a crime. You interfere with roleplay to just bring someone to jail. No extortion! Bassically you're abusing your Police Job to just fuck with people. Don't do it! Police may be involved in illegal activities on the side, but if they get caught, they will be immediately fired, and no chance to come back to the force. 

8. Criminals who are downed, are to be cuffed, and brought to the hospital to be treated before being brought to the police station.

9. All Controlled substances are illegal (Cocaine, LSD, MEth, etc) For the exception of Weed. Weed Scale is as follows: (10 or less weed is legal no action needed)(11 to 20 weed is a fine, and confiscation of all the weed)(21+ weed is 1 minute jail)

10. This is an open carry state, if someone has their gun out, all good... until they point it at someone, then you must act. If a suspect points a gun at you, you may open fire.

11. Cayo - Police have no jurisdiction on Cayo, unless a crime was committed on the mainland, and the criminals bring you to Cayo.

12. Be nice and kind to players, give a good chase to the criminals as Police don't always have to win, and please go easy on people. (Exception is for career criminals)

13. You are the ambassadors of the server, please try your best to help new players with questions and set them on the right path with the website, and new player guide, and be sure to mention they're always welcome to join our discord and ask questions there. You do not have to drive them around and give them a tour if you do not want to, at least point them in the right directions towards the resources.

14.  When doing police operations, you must use proper police and approved equipment. That being police vehicles, and approved dress attire. Plain clothed officers are with the Detective Unit, Gang Unit or Drug Task Force.
