A strange, decrepit, run-down laboratory found in the depths of a cave system beneath Penrith Isle.
Connections:
Underground Southwest (Outside)
Dr. Thorne's Laboratory (Teleporter)
As soon as players enter the laboratory, they are trapped inside and unable to exit until the backup generator has been found and powered. If they lose a battle and black out, they just respawn back in the Main Office.
The door to Underground Southwest will not open until players have returned to Dr. Thorne's lab via the teleporter at least once.
The PC in the Main Office does not work, but the Healing Machine does.
A Porygon can be found trapped in a computer in the Computer Room. After players get the backup generator running, players can extract it and take it with them. If the player extracts it but does not take it with them, it will leave dejectedly, but be found again in a corner of the Main Office if they change their mind later.
Checking the Sensor Display device in the Main Office allows players to see (among other things) what encounters can be found in the laboratory, filling the gameplay role normally filled by phone booths.
The Sensor Display device shows that containment cells for "Skorupi, Ralts, Abra, Beldum, and Regiplica" have been breached. It also shows that the notable escaped Pokémon detected in the lab are "Skorupi, Ralts, Abra, and Beldum".
This is one of the few locations in the game where wild Gimmighoul cannot be found.

As players enter the main hall, they notice a light from the Main Office. They can explore the floor freely, but cannot descend the elevator shaft until finding the source of the light.
On the back wall of the Main Office is the source of that light, a Sensor Display which allows players to see the Laboratory Status Report. Once players interact with the device, it becomes possible to open the elevator doors and descend. Actually reading the report is technically unnecessary for making progress, however.
In the Generator Room, there's a sign on the back wall stating that a backup generator can be found in the Cold Storage room.
In the Experimental Technology Storage Room, players can acquire the Dowsing Machine.
Once both the sign has been examined and the Dowsing Machine has been collected, the player is informed they can use the Dowsing Machine to find the backup generator, which is in the Cold Storage room, directly south of the door, and in-line with the bottom row of refrigerators.
By inserting the Fuel Cell from the Resource Storage Room into the backup generator, the teleporter upstairs comes back online, allowing players to leave.
Once the teleporter has been used once, players can come and go using both the teleporter and the door whenever they please.
