A strange laboratory seemingly in the middle of nowhere. The location where the player finds themselves at the start of the game, receives their first Pokémon from Dr. Thorne, and sets off on their adventure.
Connections:
Route 4 (Outside)
Penrith Laboratory (Teleporter)
Nightwell Laboratory (Teleporter)
Upon starting the game, players make their way to Dr. Thorne's office. After choosing their starter, they battle Dr. Thorne. Only then are they able to leave the laboratory. (Losing the battle leads to admonishment from Dr. Thorne, but the player is still allowed to leave regardless.)
Throughout the game, players can receive various quests from Dr. Thorne, primarily regarding capturing the custom regional forms and convergent evolutions created for this fangame. Completing these quests requires showing these Pokémon to Dr. Thorne in his office.
At the start of the game, the teleporters in the Transport Room are out of commission. As the game progresses, certain teleporters will be come back online, some of which require the player to activate from the other end.
The rewards for Dr. Thorne's research quests are determined by the number the player has completed. The order the quests are completed in does not matter.
Quests Reward
1 Ultra Ball (x5) and $2000
2 TM02 Frustration and $2000
3 Focus Band and $2000
4 Soothe Bell and $3000
5 Iron Ball and $3000
6 Wide Lens and $3000
7 Metronome and $3000
8 Terrain Extender and $3000
All three starter options are strong and worth considering, but each for different reasons.
Turtwig's bulk, Shell Armor, and Leech Seed give it incredibly reliable staying power, but its offensive power is lacking compared to the other two, and its speed is abysmal.
Torchic's raw power and Speed Boost give it phenomenal damage output, but it's fairly frail, and does not gain a secondary typing until fully evolved.
Totodile's Sheer Force gives it a power boost, its Strong Jaw Hidden Ability gives it incredible coverage, and it sports a solid mix between power and bulk, but it doesn't truly excel in either category, and is fairly lacking in speed.
Unlike other gift Pokémon, players are not given an opportunity to nickname their starters. They'll have to use the Name Rater in a Pokémon Center to do that.

In the Records Room, players can look up data regarding any custom regional variant or convergent evolution they've seen, and their custom abilities. This information is less expansive than on the wiki, but it's still fairly detailed.
In the Simulation Room, players can use the Simulation Machine to simulate trading with themselves, enabling Pokémon with trade evolutions such as Machoke to evolve.
Players can also use the Simulation Machine to simulate rematches against strong trainers they've defeated in the past. They cannot gain EXP or money from these battles however, nor will they lose money if defeated.
At present, the current trainers available for rematch simulations are:
Callie (Norfon Village team with the higher IVs)
Max (Mariville Gym team, with Grassy Terrain)
Aurora (Nightwell Gym team, with Trick Room)
Callie (Nightwell City team)
