How do I open/play the game?
Please follow the next steps to play Pokémon Dark Horizon:
1. Download the .zip file from the download link.
2. Download 7zip.
3. Open the .zip file using 7zip.
4. Press 'Extract To' and choose any folder you want.
5. Direct yourself to the folder you chose in Step 4.
6. Open the Pokemon Dark Horizon folder.
7. Open Game.exe by double clicking it.

How do I update the game?
Just delete the old game folder, and download the update.
After that you can open the .exe normally and start again.
On PC, the game save is stored under Appdata\Roaming, so you don't have to worry about losing it.
Additionally, you can use the "Game_UpdateGame" batch file from the game folder

Can I play this game on JoiPlay/Android?
Yes! Pokemon Pokémon Essentials is playable on JoiPlay, but you will encounter small performance and graphic issues.
But you have to download it from the patreon page. Install the JoiPlay app 1.20.41  and the RPG Maker Plugin 1.20.53  and it should work.

Where can I find a specific Pokémon?
There is a Shadow Monitor.pdf available, which is basically the same as a Pokédex sheet.
You can find every catchable Shadow Pokémon and its location there.

Can I miss a Shadow Pokémon?
No, you can not miss a Shadow Pokémon. If you defeat one, you can later catch it from Miror B., which will always appear in round 3 in Rivex and Oceanheart Colosseum, if there is a missed Shadow Pokémon. His last Pokémon will be a Shadow Pokémon then.

What are the shiny odds?
The chance to find a Shiny Shadow Pokémon is 1:100.
However, trainer abilities can further increase this chance.

How do I increase my trainer abilities?
Trainer Exp are gained by snagging more Shadow Pokémon.

How do I unlock more cups in Pokémon Colosseum?
More cups are unlocked automatically by progressing in the story.
You don't have to beat any other cup for that.

I can't overcome a certain opponent and I don't feel like training against wild Pokémon.
Well, just git gud!
...Just kidding. With different Colosseum Cups you always have a appropiate grinding possibilty.
Colosseum battles give way more exp than normal battles, so you don't have to worry to need too much time for grinding.

How do I evolve Pokémon with trade evolution like Kadabra?
Trade evolutions and a few other evolutions were covered by the use of evolution stones.

Where can I get a certain item?
There is a specific wiki site which lists every important item in the game and how and where to get it.

Is it possible to get all the starter Pokémon later in the game?
Yes, you can trade all starter Pokémon later in the game.

Can the difficulty level be changed later?
No. Once set, you have to go through it.
But you can deactivate and activate the level caps on easy mode to your likes.

What does the post game hold for me?
The postgame contains a well rounded end for the open ends of the main game.
A few challenges and places to visit. But there are no new Shadow Pokémon!
All obtainable Pokémon can be found in the main game.

I forgot what to do for a particular quest.
Just check the quest log to find out what is necessary to complete the quest. Here you will find a detailed description.

The custom EBDX battle animations sometimes look strange in double battle. Is that normal?
This is unfortunately correct, this is a known bug.
But you can report a specific animation in the discord and I will try to fix it.

The lights and similar effects do not change correctly during a day/night change. Did i do something wrong?
No, this is a problem with how the Fogs are queried on the maps. A map change fixes this visual bug.

What restrictions await me in hard mode?
There is a specific site in the wiki which explains all the differences.

Are there Mega-Evolutions? Custom Pokémon? Digimon?
No, this game was created with the intention of being a 4th gen game. Accordingly, there are no such elements.

Is there a EXP all share?
No. Just the held item.
And no, it will not be added.

What are the level caps on hard mode?
Lvl 15: Game Start
Lvl 20: first rival battle
Lvl 25: Rivex Warehouses
Lvl 30: Ferres Rock
Lvl 35: Citadark Isle
Lvl 40: revisit Lumina
Lvl 45: Vilestone Isle
Lvl 50: revisit Pokémon Sanctuary
Lvl 60: Shadow HQ

Lvl 100: defeated ???

Is there a speed up button?
Yes. Just hit Q.

How can I let my Pokémon follow me?
