The PLMC Gsus String and Wind Ensemble started in late-2010 with a mission “Let our light shine before men with our music, so that they may see our good deeds and praise our Father in heaven”. Today, the mixed ensemble continues to support major services such as Good Friday, Church Anniversary and Christmas.
OUR MEMBERS
The Gsus ensemble is made up of musicians from string (violin, viola, cello, double-bass), wind (flute, oboe, clarinet, alto-saxophone), and brass (trumpet, cornet, French-horn) with support from piano, harp, and percussions.
Preparations begin 3 months before each major service. Once music arrangements are finalized, the team rehearsals are on every Saturday afternoon for about 6 weeks prior to the service.
CRITERIA
At least ABRSM Grade 3. Those who are not graded or have experience playing in ensembles (such as school’s concert-band) are welcomed too! An audition will be held for all.
