ALPHA COURSE (Closing Date: 7 Apr)

Are you curious about what Christianity is? You want to share the gospel with a friend or family member, but do not know how?

Join us or invite them to the Alpha Course. The Alpha Course is an opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed environment. It is a practical introduction to the basics of Christianity centred around a talk and small group discussion.

Who is Alpha for?
Anyone can come to the Alpha Course! You don’t need to be a Christian or churchgoer to qualify. We welcome anyone who is interested to know more about the Christian faith, and what God says about life.

What is it?
Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that explore the meaning of life. A topic is explored followed by a discussion where you can freely ask questions and share your opinions. It’s fun, relaxed, and totally no pressure.

When?
The course will happen on 13, 20, 27 April; 4, 18, 25 May 2024 from 10am – 12.30pm.
Alpha Weekend: 11 May 2024, from 10am - 5pm

HEARTLAND EVANGELISM (Closing Date: 7 Apr)

Christ has called us to witness His love and salvation to our friends and neighbours. Yet, for many of us this can be a scary experience. What shall we say? How should we approach them? 

Join us we explore how we can build evangelism in our daily lives and introduce the love of Christ to our friends! Come, learn, and prepare ourselves to go into the community as ambassadors and witnesses of Christ in the year of Engagement.

MISSIONS

KAIROS COURSE (Register by 31 Mar)

The Kairos Course is a nine-session, interactive course on World Christian mission, designed to educate, inspire and challenge Christians to active and meaningful participation.


The course utilizes a variety of adult learning styles including group discussions, short lecture introduction, devotions, video teaching and student participation in specially designed activities. 

 

Kairos looks at the four main areas of mission concern which are the Biblical, Historical, Strategic and Cultural dimensions of mission.

 

In partnership with Faith Methodist Church, Hybrid Kairos Course starting in April.

YOUTH MISSIONS TRIP- SIEM REAP, CAMBODIA

A group from the Youth Ministry went on a mission trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia, in Nov 2023 and this is their story. You need only to speak with any of these young people who went for the trip, and the way their eyes light up are a testament to how these young people went in faith and met God in a truly transformative way. 

SPIRITUAL FORMATION

7 DAY GUIDED SILENT RETREAT IN CHIANGMAI, THAILAND
(23-30 OCT 2024)

I have set the Lord continually before me . . . Therefore, my heart is glad. Psalm 16:8-9

In this silent retreat on Encountering the Presence of God in our Daily Life we seek to address and prepare you on how to experience the joy of hearing God through the noise, complexities, stress and monotony of everyday life. We will explore the various means to cultivating an intimate relationship with God in the midst of our daily life and learn to live life as a formative spiritual practice, engaged with God who speaks in everything.

Date: 23-30 October 2024 (Wednesday to Wednesday)
Retreat venue: 7 Fountains Retreat Centre, Chiangmai, Thailand

Retreat fee:    $600 per person (covers registration, full board, ensuite single aircon room for whole retreat period).  Airfare is not included.
Closing date:  30 April (or when places are taken up)

Important Information

Air Ticket: You will need to book your own ticket. Please book to arrive at 7 Fountains  before 3pm on 23 October  as retreat begins at 3pm. Taxi ride from Chiangmai airport to retreat centre takes about 20 minutes. You have the options of Scoot or Thai Airways (which has a stopover in Bangkok) Please  book early once you have been informed that your registration is accepted.

Registration: All duly completed Registration Form must be accompanied with a non-refundable Registration Fee of S$50/.

Retreat Briefing: Wednesday, 28 August 2024 at 8pm (onsite) at PLMC (Conference Room). Details on how to get to 7 Fountains retreat centre will be given. Full payment must be made at this compulsory meeting.
