Baptism & Membership Class

We are thrilled to invite all individuals 16 years and above to join our upcoming Baptism and Membership Class! This is a wonderful opportunity for those who are seeking a deeper connection with their faith and the local church community. It is a chance to publicly declare your commitment to Christ through baptism and becoming a member of the local assembly.

Pre-requisite:

1. Baptism: Individual must have professed faith in Jesus Christ

2. Membership: Individual must have attended PLMC Sunday service regularly for 6 months

2. Membership Insights: Gain insights into the rich history, values, and mission of our church. Understand what it means to be a vital part of our church family.

Infant/Child Baptism

We are overjoyed to extend a heartfelt invitation to families with children below the age of 16 to participate in our upcoming Infant/Child Baptism Service. This is a beautiful opportunity to dedicate your child to the Lord and mark a meaningful milestone in their faith journey in our loving church family. 

Parents who desire to have your child baptised have to attend a briefing session by the pastor to help you understand your responsibility in your child’s faith journey. (Pre-requisite: At least one of the parents must be a PLMC member.)

  INTO THE WORD INTO THE WORLD is the second study of the DISCIPLE programme. It builds on biblical knowledge gained through the overview of the whole bible in BECOMING DISCIPLE THROUGH THE BIBLE STUDY and deepens biblical understanding by probing selected portions of Scriptures. Emphasis shifts from the broad view to the deeper, more detailed view. Pre-requisite: Must have graduated from DISCIPLE 1.

The PLMC Marriage Preparation Course is designed to provide valuable insights for couples as they navigate their journey towards marriage. This course facilitates a deeper understanding of their relationship with each other and covers a number of topics important to a successful marriage.

This course is based on and uses the materials of The Marriage Preparation Course (published by Alpha International) which was developed by Nicky and Sila Lee who are on staff at Holy Trinity Brompton, London, UK.  Besides viewing the video teaching by Nicky & Sila each week, there are also live speaker sessions, couple discussion time and sharing with other participants in small groups.

Topics covered during the course include a Biblical perspective on marriage, effective communication, the importance of commitment, conflict resolution strategies, couple’s goals and values, maintaining a vibrant love and dealing with finances.

In addition, there's a Prepare/Enrich couple assessment that seeks to help the couple leverage on their strengths and build upon their growth areas for a stronger marriage. A designated facilitator will help couples apply the findings to their relationship.

What is God’s design for marriage? Join us in this 3-day 2-night marriage retreat brought to you by the PLMC Family Life Ministry. At this retreat, we will learn through a 6-part video titled ‘The Art of Marriage’, put together by pastors and experts renowned on marriage and family in a tranquil and cosy environment. This program is created by Cru FamilyLife which has for more than thirty years helped couples understand God’s plan for relationships. 

Apart from the video sessions, couples of the organising committee will be sharing their experience in their marriage, where you can catch glimpses of God’s grace and mercy in the different seasons of their lives. 

A successful marriage is like a divinely inspired art form. Let’s fulfill the plan that God has for us in our marriage and family in the Art of Marriage (AOM) retreat:

Please plan to arrive anytime on 7 Mar (hotel check-in is from 3 pm). The day is free-n-easy (St Giles is linked to a sprawling mall). In this silent retreat on Encountering the Presence of God in our Daily Life we seek to address and prepare you on how to experience the joy of hearing God through the noise, complexities, stress and monotony of everyday life. We will explore the various means to cultivating an intimate relationship with God in the midst of our daily life and learn to live life as a formative spiritual practice, engaged with God who speaks in everything.

Date: 23-30 October 2024 (Wednesday to Wednesday)
Retreat venue: 7 Fountains Retreat Centre, Chiangmai, Thailand

Important Information

Air Ticket: You will need to book your own ticket. Please book to arrive at 7 Fountains  before 3pm on 23 October  as retreat begins at 3pm. Taxi ride from Chiangmai airport to retreat centre takes about 20 minutes. You have the options of Scoot or Thai Airways (which has a stopover in Bangkok) Please  book early once you have been informed that your registration is accepted.

Registration: All duly completed Registration Form must be accompanied with a non-refundable Registration Fee of S$50/. Registration closes 30 April (or when places are taken up).
