Dearest friends and co-labourers of God, I greet you in the Name of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Please pray along with me:
O God our Heavenly Father, we thank You that by the blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ, You have allowed us to approach You confidently with our prayers and our petitions. We thank You that You are a God who wants to hear our prayers and who will answer them in accordance with Your magnificent will. And so, we lift our prayers to You today, humbly asking that You show us Your steadfast love that never ceases and Your mercy that never comes to an end.
Lord God, there is a new wave of the Covid-19 virus that is happening around the world and here in Singapore. We have been told to expect an increase in the number of infections although they may not result in severe outcomes like before. In this aspect, we are concerned for the people whom we minister to in the Community and for those whom we have befriended in our Outreach events and activities. We pray that You, Almighty God, will heal those who have been infected. Let them not suffer for too long, keep their symptoms mild, guard and shield them from any negative effects or side-effects and bring them to complete restoration of good health. We also pray that You will keep those who have not been infected safe from the virus.
Our elderly friends are the most vulnerable, Lord God. So, we pray especially for those whom we minister to in the three St Luke’s Eldercare Centres – Hougang (Lor Ah Soo), Serangoon, and Hougang Meadows – not just our elderly friends, but also their helpers and the St Luke’s staff who are serving them. In accordance with Your Word, we ask that You send Your angels to encamp around them and deliver them.
The children whom we minister to are also vulnerable, Lord God. So, we pray for the children in the Hope Student Care Centre, the children in the Anglican Family Centre, the children of those whom we bless in Blk 223A Serangoon Ave 4, Blk 8 Lor Lew Lian and Blks 201-210 Serangoon Central. As they return to school, we pray that You will keep them and their teachers safe from any kind of harm. We pray that You give wisdom to the school administration to be able to safely and properly manage the large groups of children, and that they will effectively execute their safe management measures.
Our homeless and rough-sleeper friends are also vulnerable as they do not have the safety and comfort of homes. We pray especially for those who (for some reason or other) have not been fully vaccinated. Lord God, keep all of them safe as they sleep outside in the open. We continue to pray that their family situations will be resolved and restored, and that they will eventually be able to find homes of their own and roofs over their heads.
We pray for all our co-workers who are ministering to and serving all the various friends in our Outreach ministries. Lord God, protect them from the virus and keep them safe as they bring Your love and blessings to the people whom You love.
We ask all these things in Your Son Jesus Christ’s most wonderful name. Amen!
