OUTREACH

Dearest friends and co-labourers of God,

I greet you in the Name of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Please pray along with me:

O God our Heavenly Father, we thank and praise You that You are so willing to hear our prayers when we ask for You to bless us. We pray the prayer of blessing that Jabez prayed, Lord God, and we ask that You would bless us indeed and enlarge our territory, that Your hand would be with us and You would keep us from evil so that we may not cause pain. We pray this prayer even as we carry out our outreach activities for in this month and in the months to come.

Bless us indeed, O God, so that we might be a blessing to others. Father, we realise that the blessings that You bestow on us are not meant to be hoarded for ourselves. Instead, we should go out and bless the community just as You have blessed us. Truly, Lord God, out in the highways and byways of life, there are many who are weary and sad. So, allow us and help us to carry Your light to where darkness is rife and make the sorrowful glad. Make us a blessing, Lord, and let Jesus shine out of our lives and in the good works that we do. Make us a blessing to someone today and every day.

Enlarge our territory, O God. In this aspect, open our eyes to see the people around us the way that You see them. Help us not to be blind to those in need, be deaf to those who are crying, and be insensitive to those who are marginalised. Instead, teach us and give us the ability to see them so that we can provide for them, hear them so that we can comfort them, and touch them so that we can bring Your love to them.

Be with us, O God, as we carry out our outreach activities. We know we cannot do this alone, and that if we insist on doing it in our own strength and with our own resources, there will come a time when all of it will cease. Help us to remember to depend on You and to rely on Your provision. Help us always to desire Your presence with us as we reach out to the community. In this way, let the joy of Your presence with us shine through us and into the lives of the people we minister to and those whom we serve.

Keep us from evil so that we may not cause pain, O God. As we move into the community and seek to make disciples of the people there, the evil one will do all in his power to stop this from happening. If he tries to stop us from doing Your work, we ask that You – our God of Hosts (YHWH Tsabaoth) – will stand by us and give us victory over the evil one. If he tries to stop the people from hearing Your word, we pray that the seed You have allowed us to sow into their lives will take root and grow for Your glory. We also pray that even as we have sowed, we allow other believers to come along and water where we have sown. But You, O God, make the seeds take root and change the people’s hearts and lives.

We pray all these things in Your Son Jesus’ Name. Amen!

CARE & HEAL

CARE HUB (English & Chinese)

Care Hub is formed to support and journey alongside our members / worshippers whose lives and livelihoods have been affected by this crisis. The end goal of Care Hub is pastoral care, for someone to journey with them and remind them they are beloved of God and to find strength in God to face the challenges.

As each individual has different needs, Care Hub serves as a one-stop helpline where an individual can obtain support in the church in various areas. If you have been affected by this crisis, Care Hub is here to support you.

Chinese version :

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need to be a worshipper at PLMC to obtain help for Care Hub?

As long as you have been worshipping with us, either on-site or online, you are welcome to obtain help from Care Hub. We seek to journey with you as a family of faith during, and beyond, the COVID-19 period.

2. Is it compulsory for a Care Befriender to journey with me?

Yes, it is. We are not designed to journey alone. The church is the Body of Christ and each of us is a part of the body. Having a Care Befriender in this journey is to experience the community and interdependence of our Triune God. God is never alone; we need others too.

3. How long will the Care Befriender journey with me?

Each person has a different journey. Each journey is unique. In general, the Care Befriender will journey with you 3 – 6 months. Let these be a meaningful journey of deepening in God through the company of another.

4. Can I request for pastor to be my spiritual mentor/counsellor?

Yes, you can make the request, but we are all called to be a priesthood of believers hence most likely a mature believer will be assigned to journey with you. Trust that it is God’s hand that has led you thus far, and He will ensure that you are mentored or counselled by the right person with the necessary spiritual gifts for you.

5. I am not affected by COVID-19 but I need someone to talk to. Do I send my request through Care Hub?

No, Care Hub specifically caters to those who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and its ramifications. Please contact the relevant ministry that caters to your need directly. Contact details can be found at the end of this site, under ‘Our Ministries’.
