2024 Year of Engagement, on Palm Sunday, our church family came together to bless our Lor Ah Soo, Serangoon & Woodleigh community. Over 100 cells with 1,000 members, reached over 800 households, sharing more than 1,000 bags of our blessing and love!

A week after, we saw new faces in church on Easter, and many also came forward to give their lives to Jesus!

We hope more of you will join us in our next Block Blessing at Christmas, and we continue to pray that the seeds of good news be sown, watered, and the harvest of our nation be reaped!

• Pray for Dan & Esther:

- that God will continue to make clear their next steps, now that they are already halfway through their assignment.  Pray for them to know where to serve and how to serve the Indo people, when they end their assignment.

• Pray for Dan & Esther opportunities to witness to 2 specific individuals whom they have become closer to – Ibu W and Ibu H. Pray for their hearts to be open to the gospel and for Dan & Esther to have boldness to be led by the Holy Spirit in conversations.

• Pray for Grace’s brother, Russel’s health and to regain ability to walk.

• Pray for Grace’s nephew’s preparation for A-levels examination.

Navigators Singapore: Roger Yeo & Pearlyn Pang

• Pray for Roger, Pearlyn, Kevin, Johan, Kristine, Joel Loh and Joel Tio to grow in faith, hope and love even as they labour together for the gospel; embracing fully the grace that have come for our sakes – Col 1:3-6.

• Pray for Roger & Pearlyn’s time together with a ministry on 11 May.  Pray that what they share – day to day work life and outreach work – would move the ministry that Christians can impact the tech marketplace.  

YWAM Singapore: Nicole Lim

• Pray for Nicole deeper trust and complete surrender to God’s leading, whilst maintaining unwavering faith and fostering deeper intimacy with God.

• Pray for Nicole safety, wisdom and open hearts to God’s guidance during her current and upcoming trips.

• Pray for sister F and her family as she prepares for EA trip 2 and for safe travels for sister S who returns to EA1 before May.

WEC Singapore: Angel Tan

• Praise God for healing of shoulder and arm.  Pray for Angel and family, good physical, emotional and spiritual health, especially Spring comes with allergy coughs and runny nose.

• Pray for perseverance, and clarity of mind in completing all tasks for school and work.

• Pray for Angel’s desire to have a second child and to rest in God’s plans for her future where fieldwork is concerned.

YWAM Singapore: Rachel Ong

• Pray for Rachel safe travel and good time of learning & connecting with other member care providers during a member care conference in Cairo, Egypt from 11 – 22 April 2024.   

• Pray for Rachel to have a deeper understanding and experience in prayer, fasting and intercession.

MISSIONS PARTNERS

East Asia: TK

•  Pray for TK and family’s needs – spiritually, financially, physically, academically and God’s protection and guidance.

• Pray for the eight students and two young missionaries who will serve on campus next semester.  Also pray for God’s protection for 3 more teams who are preparing their teams to work with TK.

• Pray for C, D, S and H’s faith to grow, so that they can be the next student leaders.

East Asia:  Songs

• Pray for more workers to join the Songs in the harvest field.  And for the Songs to meet with and recruit the right workers.

• One of the NW-TAN workers’ younger sister (in her thirties) passed away suddenly in her sleep.  Pray for comfort and consolation for the husband, children and their aged mother.

East Asia: Mongolia Living Faith Church

• Please pray for church growth in quality and quantity.

• Please pray for God's protection and good health over our family members.

• Please pray for the monthly mission trips to Umnudelger and Nalaikh. Please pray that church members and leaders can be encouraged by the visits.

South Asia:  GEMS

• Pray for GEMS and for the safety of all the workers, pastors, evangelists and staff.

• Pray for His protection to surround them all as they press on, doing His kingdom’s work.

• Pray for God’s providence for their needs and support.

South Asia:  CCI Bangladesh

• Pray for the CCI tentmakers program as they equip themselves for the field.

• Pray that new believers will stand firm in faith and to serve the Lord faithfully amid persecution.

Central Asia: C&M

• Pray for continued rest in the Lord and divine instructions from God for the future.  Pray that they are able to meet new connections for their work to support other workers in Central Asia.

• Pray for the team, that they will continue to grow in the Lord healthily.  And for the local disciples to be led by God to share their faith.

• Pray for C&M’s children to continue to love and have passion for Jesus.

Pray that the  Church Camp Organising Committee will be empowered by the Holy Spirit in their planning so that they may be able to discern and align all activities and programs to the Father’s desire and will for the church.

• Year of Engagement 2024

Pray for every member to catch the vision of reaching our community at Serangoon Central, Lorong Lew Lian and Lorong Ah Soo Communities. 

Pray for the individual residents to encounter Jesus Christ and receive Him as their personal Saviour.

Pray for the homeless, poor, needy and elderly staying alone – to experience the love of Jesus Christ through our block blessings and visits. 

Pray for PLMC to be a “safe place” to receive all people - as we serve God in reaching the communities for Christ. 

• Spiritual Covering over our children and youths

Spiritual covering over their minds and lives so that they may cultivate and possess the spiritual discernment to test the spirits and ideologies and to choose the good and approved will of God. 

Parents will commit to disciple their children in the ways of God and through their godly examples.

The church stand as one, to protect these young ones against all worldly influences, spiritual attacks and ungodly ideologies by praying for them, nurturing them in the Word of God and modeling for them what godliness is.

Director/Executive, Counselling Ministry

Job Overview
Reporting to his/her immediate supervisor, the incumbent will be involved in both counselling and management of clients. As a team leader, he/she will assist in developing the counselling ministry, and work together with a team of volunteers in delivering effective counselling services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional counselling services to individuals, couples, families and groups, and preferably possess some knowledge to counsel child and youth clients, to improve their well-being

• Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling programmes on clients’ progress in resolving identified problems

• Collaborate and network with Supervisor and other staff members as part of clients’ treatment plans, and recommend and implement areas for improvement

• Prepare and maintain proper documentation of case records

• Develop and conduct training and workshops to enhance the well-being of the community

Requirements

•  Minimum Degree in Counselling or equivalent

• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in pastoral care and counselling work

• Dedicated and passionate about advocating the importance of mental health

• A team player who is able to work collaboratively with other ministries

• Proactive self-starter with analytical and creative mind, and ability to work independently

• Possess good organizational, communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills

1. HOPE Student Care Centre (an Outreach arm of PLMC)

• PROGRAMME STAFF, HOPE STUDENT CARE CENTRE (PART TIME)

BASIC ROLE

The Programme staff supports the Superintendent in the development of programs for students. She/He will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Student Care Centre, which includes but not limited to the following:

1. Implement and executes programs for the students 

2. Supervise and guide the children (Primary 1 to 6) in their study to ensure completion of daily homework

3. Guide students in creating good habits in their daily lives

4. Provide a secure, caring, and loving environment for the students in the Centre.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise and provide guidance to the students in their studies. 

• Provides students with opportunities to grow. 

• Supervise the students in terms of their behaviour and learning habits. Always use positive disciple techniques.

• Plans, prepare, and execute programs with the Staff to enhance the total development of the students.

• Assist with administrative duties (Enrolment, collection of forms) and upkeep of centre premises. 

• Ensure safety and timely transfer of students from school to student centre. 

• Preparation of progress reports for each student. 

• Participates and support in the Centre’s programmes. (In-house, Outdoor and Outreach)  

• Performs all other related duties described herein or such other duties as shall be assigned by the Superintendent from time to time.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum “O” Level or higher with tutoring experience with Primary school students is advantageous  

• Able to teach Primary School Subjects 

• Passionate about working with children 

• Possess good communication and classroom management skills 

• Creative and loving energy with a positive disposition 

• Computer Skills – Microsoft Office and Google Suite
