Silver Boxes

• Thank God that many children have been able to join us on Zoom on Sundays at 11am (except the 1^st Sunday of the month). We also thank God for our leaders, who have tirelessly served every Sunday.

• Pray for our upcoming plans to return onsite, and for the children to return onsite with us. Let the little children come.

• Pray for our partnership with the young adults and the youths, to reach out to the children, and minister to them.

• Pray for our upcoming programmes in December. May the Lord lead and guide us, with His wisdom and favour.

Sonshine Kids

• Praise God for the children and leaders who have been joining us online during this pandemic. We pray that we will continue to be able to journey with them through these times, and God’s Word that goes forth will not return to Him void.

• Pray that the number of Covid cases will decrease, so that parents will have the peace of mind to send their children back onsite.

• Pray for our holiday programmes in November and December. We pray for God’s direction and shepherding as we take each step by faith.

• Baptism & Membership Class – we thank God for their learning experiences through the teaching and discussion sessions. Commit each one in prayer as they go for their Baptism at the service on 14 Nov, and Confirmation & Membership at the service on 21 Nov.

• Alpha Course – let us pray for each participant to find opportunities to continue in their discipleship journey. Pray that they be nurtured in the faith, with the seeds already sown in them.

• Disciple One & Three Courses – pray for God’s guidance and grace as the participants and facilitators grow deeper in Word, Spirit and Community in this journey.

• Pray for the whole Church to grow deeper in the Word, enjoying and applying it into their lives. Pray that we may be fervent in the ROAD or our own devotional plans.

• Pray for our young adults balancing between their university exams/term paper submissions and ministry involvement.

• Pray for our young adults committee as they meet to plan for the 2022 YA activities.

• Pray for our young adult cell groups as they continue to meet online to grow in their fellowship, and spur one another on in their faith.

• Pray that more mature, God-loving adults will step up to nurture and build into the lives of the YAs.

• Please pray that all youths going through major examinations will remain healthy, safe, and focused on their examinations. May they see and rely on the grace and wisdom of the Lord.

• Please pray for general health and safety for youths who have finished their exams and are having their year-end break, to find time to seek God as they relax and play, and to prepare for the next year.

Care Hub is formed to support and journey alongside our members / worshippers whose lives and livelihoods have been affected by this crisis. The end goal of Care Hub is pastoral care, for someone to journey with them and remind them they are beloved of God and to find strength in God to face the challenges.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need to be a worshipper at PLMC to obtain help for Care Hub?

As long as you have been worshipping with us, either on-site or online, you are welcome to obtain help from Care Hub. We seek to journey with you as a family of faith during, and beyond, the COVID-19 period.

2. Is it compulsory for a Care Befriender to journey with me?

Yes, it is. We are not designed to journey alone. The church is the Body of Christ and each of us is a part of the body. Having a Care Befriender in this journey is to experience the community and interdependence of our Triune God. God is never alone; we need others too.

3. How long will the Care Befriender journey with me?

Each person has a different journey. Each journey is unique. In general, the Care Befriender will journey with you 3 – 6 months. Let these be a meaningful journey of deepening in God through the company of another.

4. Can I request for pastor to be my spiritual mentor/counsellor?

Yes, you can make the request, but we are all called to be a priesthood of believers hence most likely a mature believer will be assigned to journey with you. Trust that it is God’s hand that has led you thus far, and He will ensure that you are mentored or counselled by the right person with the necessary spiritual gifts for you.

5. I am not affected by COVID-19 but I need someone to talk to. Do I send my request through Care Hub?

No, Care Hub specifically caters to those who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and its ramifications. Please contact the relevant ministry that caters to your need directly. Contact details can be found at the end of this site, under ‘Our Ministries’.

1. HR Executive

Job Overview

The HR Executive is responsible for administering and implementing the HR policies and programmes aligned to the Church HR strategies. The HR Executive must be able to handle confidential information with discretion.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and administer the recruitment process, including new staff onboarding and induction and work pass applications

• Maintain employee data in the HR system, ensuring information is accurate and up to date

• Coordinate and manage the process of probationary reviews, staff development reviews, etc

• Process and follow up on HR decisions such as generate the letter of offers, employment confirmations, termination, etc.

• Manage and ensure timely submission of government and manpower related surveys and reports

• Medical insurance and benefits administration

• Administration of the e-Leave system

• Provide support in Training & Development initiatives

• Responsible for providing support in the various HR functions where required

• Undertake projects and any other tasks assigned by the Pastor-In-Charge

Requirements

• Degree in Human Resource Management and/or equivalent,

2. Head of Finance/Finance Executive

Job Overview

You will lead and be responsible for all the church's financial accounting processes and practices. You will ensure that all financial procedures are fully aligned and complied with the government and the organisation financial regulations and policy. You will be responsible for the full spectrum of the accounting and finance functions of the church. In addition, you will prepare the statutory reports and provide accurate and timely financial reports and statements for the management's review. The Finance Department will also be responsible for the governance and risk management of the church.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for all financial processes within the church, including budgeting, year-end functions, and financial reports and statements for review by the management

• Ensure thorough and timely administration, and sound financial stewardship and clear communication in matters related to all financial aspect

• Ensure funds and deposits in the church are adequately tracked and accounted for

• Ensure adherence to church governance requirements, and timely and accurate statutory reporting to charities portal

• Review the annual insurance policies of the church

• Process all payments, ensure they are appropriately approved before timely disbursement

• Review monthly and year-end financial statements and verifies banking accuracy

• Manage and execute the Finance Committee (FC) financial decisions as directed by

the Church Treasurer and the Finance Chairperson

• Work with the Church Treasurer, the Finance Chairperson and all budget
  holders to ensure overall budget parameters are met

• Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Pastor-In-Charge

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, professional accountancy qualification or equivalent

• At least 3 – 5 years relevant experience with financial operations, familiar with ACCPAC

• Ability to think strategically and analytically to understand and align the objectives and dynamics of the organisation

• Strong leadership and good interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively with various Ministry Leadership Team, and Committees

• Proficient with MS Excel and MS Word

• Resourceful and independent worker; ability to multi-task

Job Overview

To provide comprehensive administrative support, liaison and coordination, ensuring the smooth running of the church ministries.
