Silver Boxes

1. Thank God for the increase in interest of the parents to sign up their children for Silver Boxes. We pray that the children will experience God's loving presence in our community, and encourage one another through this COVID pandemic. 

2. Pray for our children as we celebrate Mother's Day on 9 May, and for those who have lost their mums, we pray for God's comfort upon them. 

3. Pray for our upcoming plans for Silver Boxes in the coming months. 

Sonshine Kids

1. We thank God that children are bringing other children to Sonshine Kids. We pray for deeper relationships to be built and for the Lord's covering over them, to be able to join us every Saturday. 

2. Pray for our upcoming programmes for Sonshine Kids in May and in June. 

1. Baptism & Membership – we praise God for the 15 persons who were baptised on 18 Apr, the 34 adults (including those from the Mandarin Svc) who were received into membership on 25 Apr, and the 5 infants who will be baptised on 9 May. Let’s rejoice with them, praying that they may grow to be a blessing to the community and the nations by their prayers, presence, giving, service and witness.

2. Alpha Course – let us ask God to continue to shower His love in this safe environment that each may grow towards His heart and one another through the sessions and friendships.

3. D&N Course on Understanding the Kingdom of God – we pray that people will be moved to participate/sign up for this to be conducted on 12 Jun. We pray for the speaker Rev Dr Lim Kar Yong to be filled with God’s wisdom in his preparation.

4. Disciple Courses – we pray for God’s anointing, favour and love to fill both the participants and facilitators of the D1 & D3 Courses, that He will pour out His wisdom in this learning environment.

We praise and thank God that the daily infections of COVID-19 have been coming down in our nation. Never-the-less, we understand that there are some of us who are not coping as well as others, and there may be anxiety, frustration, sadness, anger, helplessness and a whole slew of other emotions. As your pastors, we want you to know that we are here for you.

The PLMC Inner Healing Ministry helps individuals get to the root of things that are hindering their personal connection with God. This Ministry continues online every second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm. Email requests to plihm@plmc.org

Care Hub is formed to support and journey alongside our members / worshippers whose lives and livelihoods have been affected by this crisis. The end goal of Care Hub is pastoral care, for someone to journey with them and remind them they are beloved of God and to find strength in God to face the challenges. 

As each individual has different needs, Care Hub serves as a one-stop helpline where an individual can obtain support in the church in various areas. If you have been affected by this crisis, Care Hub is here to support you.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need to be a worshipper at PLMC to obtain help for Care Hub?

As long as you have been worshipping with us, either on-site or online, you are welcome to obtain help from Care Hub. We seek to journey with you as a family of faith during, and beyond, the COVID-19 period.

2. Is it compulsory for a Care Befriender to journey with me?

Yes, it is. We are not designed to journey alone. The church is the Body of Christ and each of us is a part of the body. Having a Care Befriender in this journey is to experience the community and interdependence of our Triune God. God is never alone; we need others too.

3. How long will the Care Befriender journey with me?

Each person has a different journey. Each journey is unique. In general, the Care Befriender will journey with you 3 – 6 months. Let these be a meaningful journey of deepening in God through the company of another.

4. Can I request for pastor to be my spiritual mentor/counsellor?

Yes, you can make the request, but we are all called to be a priesthood of believers hence most likely a mature believer will be assigned to journey with you. Trust that it is God’s hand that has led you thus far, and He will ensure that you are mentored or counselled by the right person with the necessary spiritual gifts for you.

5. I am not affected by COVID-19 but I need someone to talk to. Do I send my request through Care Hub?

No, Care Hub specifically caters to those who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and its ramifications. Please contact the relevant ministry that caters to your need directly. Contact details can be found at the end of this site, under ‘Our Ministries’.

Finance Executive/Assistant

Job Overview

You will be responsible for the full spectrum of the accounting and finance functions of the church. In addition, you will provide support for statutory reporting and prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements for management’s review.

Key Responsibilities

•  Responsible for the Church’s full set of accounts

•  Process all payments, ensure they are properly approved prior to timely disbursement  

• Manage month-end closing requirements for compilation of accurate financial reports and statements for review by management

• Provide support in finance-related matters; including budgeting

• Assist to ensuring appropriate controls are in place for receipt, payment, accounting, safe-keeping and disbursement of church funds

• Other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy

• At least 2 – 3 years’ relevant experience, familiar with ACCPAC

• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word

• Resourceful and independent worker; ability to multi-task

• Motivated team player with good inter-personal and communication skills

• Must be able to work on Sundays
