The Methodist Church in Singapore usually observes Laity Sunday on the second Sunday in October. As we here at PLMC have many lay ministries for you to serve in, we are observing Laity Month instead. Each week, a few ministries will be featured on PLMC TODAY to showcase what they do, and where you can participate in. Today, we showcase the WORSHIP & MUSIC, CREATIVE ARTS, MANDARIN SERVICE AND FILIPINO SERVICE, AV.
PARENTING CHILDREN COURSE
Under great pressures of today, parents face bewildering choices to practice effective parenting. While striving to keep family-life in check, we often forget that our children do not come with an instruction manual.
The Parenting Children Course (TPCC) is a 5-session course designed for any parent or caregiver, regardless of their parenting skill level. Learn to build strong foundations, the 5 love languages, how to set boundaries with love, and more!
TPCC was developed and run worldwide by Nicky & Sila Lee who are married for 30 years and have 4 children. They are co-authors of The Parenting Book and The Marriage Book and creators of The Parenting Children Course (TPCC). The Parenting Children Course (TPCC). The Marriage Course and the Marriage Preparation Course.

PLMC CONFERENCE 2022 (16 to 19 Jun 2022)
Next year, instead of a Church Camp, we’re doing things differently with a Church Conference. It will have many speakers to meet the diverse needs of the participants, to address the challenges ahead in a post-COVID world.
The theme of the Conference is Generations Unbroken - with God as our master weaver, weaving our multigenerational church together and is part of our 90th Anniversary celebrations. Please save the dates - 16 to 19 Jun 2022.

1. HR Executive
Job Overview
The HR Executive is responsible for administering and implementing the HR policies and programmes aligned to the Church HR strategies. The HR Executive must be able to handle confidential information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and administer the recruitment process, including new staff onboarding and induction and work pass applications
Maintain employee data in the HR system, ensuring information is accurate and up to date
Coordinate and manage the process of probationary reviews, staff development reviews, etc
Process and follow up on HR decisions such as generate the letter of offers, employment confirmations, termination, etc.
Manage and ensure timely submission of government and manpower related surveys and reports
Medical insurance and benefits administration
Administration of the e-Leave system
Provide support in Training & Development initiatives
Responsible for providing support in the various HR functions where required
Undertake projects and any other tasks assigned by the Pastor-In-Charge
Requirements
Degree in Human Resource Management and/or equivalent,
At least 3 years and above of related working experience in human resource administration
Good knowledge of local employment laws, HR functions and best practices
Resourceful and independent worker; ability to multi-task
Motivated team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
Proficient in MS Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

2. Head of Finance/Finance Executive
Job Overview
You will lead and be responsible for all the church's financial accounting processes and practices. You will ensure that all financial procedures are fully aligned and complied with the government and the organisation financial regulations and policy. You will be responsible for the full spectrum of the accounting and finance functions of the church. In addition, you will prepare the statutory reports and provide accurate and timely financial reports and statements for the management's review. The Finance Department will also be responsible for the governance and risk management of the church.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for all financial processes within the church, including budgeting, year-end functions, and financial reports and statements for review by the management
Ensure thorough and timely administration, and sound financial stewardship and clear communication in matters related to all financial aspect
Ensure funds and deposits in the church are adequately tracked and accounted for
Ensure adherence to church governance requirements, and timely and accurate statutory reporting to charities portal
Review the annual insurance policies of the church
Process all payments, ensure they are appropriately approved before timely disbursement
Review monthly and year-end financial statements and verifies banking accuracy
Manage and execute the Finance Committee (FC) financial decisions as directed by
the Church Treasurer and the Finance Chairperson
Work with the Church Treasurer, the Finance Chairperson and all budget
holders to ensure overall budget parameters are met
Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Pastor-In-Charge
Requirements
Degree in Accounting, professional accountancy qualification or equivalent
At least 3 – 5 years relevant experience with financial operations, familiar with ACCPAC
Ability to think strategically and analytically to understand and align the objectives and dynamics of the organisation
Strong leadership and good interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with various Ministry Leadership Team, and Committees
Proficient with MS Excel and MS Word
Resourceful and independent worker; ability to multi-task

3. Executive Assistant
Job Overview
To provide comprehensive administrative support, liaison and coordination, ensuring the smooth running of the church ministries.
Key Responsibilities
Provide general operational support for the church administration
Provide administrative and logistics support to the pastors, staff, church services, events and activities as assigned
Organise, maintain documents and filing system
Undertake projects and any other tasks assigned by the Pastor-In-Charge
Requirements
GCE “O”/”A” Level /Diploma certificate
Minimum 3 years relevant working experience
Resourceful and independent worker; ability to multi-task
Motivated team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
Proficient in MS Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

If you are a volunteer, disability ministry leader, or ministry staff interested in learning the basics of disability-inclusive ministry then CCDM is the programme for you. It doesn’t matter if you are not experienced or knowledgeable about disability CCDM will give you theological insight, practical know-how, and hands-on experience in disability ministry. CCDM’s rigorous Zoom classroom sessions are complemented by (optional) on-site learning journeys and volunteer attachments to social service agencies and disability ministries.
