Continue 'Church-at-Home' with the little ones.
Online resources are available below:Even during this Circuit Breaker when we are advised to stay home as much as possible, there are still some essential services that require a hand to serve the community. Though these activities are run by secular organisations, our involvement, at the comfort level of our families, will still bring the light of Christ to the world. Some opportunities for you to serve in include meal distribution to vulnerable seniors and sewing face masks. Details below.

Emotional intelligence is the capacity to blend thinking and feeling to make optimal decisions hence helping individuals to develop a successful relationship between self and others.
By being emotionally intelligent, you will have greater self-awareness in managing your thoughts and feelings, the ability to recognize and understand the emotions of others and rationalizing yourself effectively when facing challenges. In this talk, the following topics will be covered:
What is Emotional Intelligence (EQ)?
How does EQ help us in our daily work?
Tips on managing emotions in the current COVID-19 stay home or work place at home situation
In this current COVID-19 situation, many of us are trying to cope with being shut in, adjusting to spending long periods of time at home with family members. With virtual work from home in place, colleagues and keeping schedules for work have put many of us in new emotional and stress modes. This FOC online talk teaches us the techniques of managing our EQ to keep our relationships strong so that we can better cope with the challenges.

This is your best opportunity to spend some time alone with the Lord in the comfort of your own home through a 2-day online retreat through Zoom. There will be 3 gathering times on Zoom over the two days. For the rest of the time, you will be given suggestions on what you can do at home. Limited to 10 persons on a first come first served basis. For more information, please email Soo Hoong at soohoong@plmc.org
All of us are suffering in different ways, various degrees, due to COVID-19. But low-income families are suffering more due to drop in wages or job loss which aggravate already trying circumstances. Most of us can still afford to give something to help. Please consider giving a gift of any amount here: bit.ly/2K7jy2U
TRAC WSCS presents an e-booklet of daily devotions for the month of May. With contributions from members of various Methodist churches, including from PLMC, all are welcome to download a copy here: tinyurl.com/Our-Strength-Every-Morning
We are continuing our Bible Reading Plan with Exodus from Monday, 27 April 20. Over the next 9 weeks, we will explore God’s hand and God’s plan in the lives of the Israelites using ROAD – Read God’s word; Observe what He is telling you; Apply it to your life or situation; Do what is necessary to carry out God’s instruction for you.

Life in PLMC told through the eyes of worshippers and staff. In this inaugural issue, we feature the Outreach distribution of care packs to our Migrant Worker brothers on the evening of 6 April 20, just before the Circuit Breaker was imposed. Check out the heartwarming stories here.
If you have missed the online videos of our Pastors connecting with you through the sharing of devotions daily from 8.00am this past week on PLMC Facebook, don’t miss this week’s!
Using ROAD, do your devotions on the day’s passage in the Bible Reading Plan. You’ll get to share what the Lord has spoken to you about the daily passage of scripture, and engage with others on their comments, too.

MWS Donate to Bless – 1,000 families impacted by COVID-19
The COVID-19 situation that we are currently in has resulted in extreme anxiety in the community. For the disadvantaged and vulnerable, the anxiety they feel is even greater. Distressed and low-income families may be facing more hardship when they earn less during this time or when they lose their livelihoods. Having little to no savings will likely cause them to experience more stress and go into debt. Methodist Welfare Services aims to raise S$1.35m to provide financial assistance to 1,000 low-income families for one year. These funds will support them in meeting their basic needs, and having the resources to better prepare for and handle the direct impact brought about by COVID-19 on their lives.
TAMAR VILLAGE
Tamar Village is a subsidiary of Mercy Centre Ltd - a Mercy Ministry of YWAM Singapore. Since 2010, Tamar Village has been reaching individuals from the Red Light District and Sex Trade Arena. Our funding goes to the operation expenses of the ministry.
EAGLES MEDIATION & COUNSELLING CENTRE (EMCC)
Since their establishment in 1997, EMCC has endeavored to bring hope to broken relationships. They believe that the Singaporean society at large benefits from the development of strong marriages and healthy families. As a Christian faith-motivated social service that serves the community and churches equally, they are the face and hands of the church to a world of hurting individuals and families. EMCC is a full member of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and an approved Institution of Public Character (IPC). Our funding will be designated towards the counselling or mediation fees for those who cannot afford.
GLADIOLUS PLACE (FORMERLY ANDREW & GRACE HOME)
Gladiolus Place was founded in 1998 as a Christian residential refuge for teenage girls. Gladiolus Place reaches out to vulnerable youth in need of care and protection; who have faced, or are at risk of abuse, neglect, delinquency and wayward behaviors. Our funding will go towards providing the baby supplies and essentials.
HARVEY HOUSE OF MINISTRY
Harvey House provides ministry and housing needs for single mothers and their children; raise awareness on the abortion gap, the plight of single mothers and the help they need; and raise community support for single mothers and their children. Funds raised will be used to support the monthly operating expenses for the house.
PRISON FELLOWSHIP SINGAPORE
PFS is an inter-denominational para-church organization that reaches out to prisoners, ex-offenders and their families. Its roots can be traced to 1952 when the late Rev Khoo Siaw Hua, a Methodist pastor, was asked by the then Singapore Police Commissioner to work with prisoners. PFS’ vision is to see a Christian community that embraces these prisoners, ex-offender and their families with the love of God and His power to transform. Supported by a team of full-time staff, it provides pre-sentence care, in-care, after care and family care. The programmes are supported by volunteers and donors. Internationally, PFS is one of over 125 affiliated members of Prison Fellowship International (PFI). Our funding will be designated for the Aftercare Programme for one woman ex-offender.
SAFE PLACE
Safe Place aims to empower women and families with unsupported pregnancies to make life-giving choices. This is done through case management, counselling, provision of baby supplies, specialized therapies, parent craft training, broadening of social support and residential services if needed. We want to contribute towards the cost of baby supplies and counselling or casework.

Pray for our families who are working in the healthcare sectors – for good health and for protection.
Pray that our Mother’s Day packages will arrive at the children’s homes on time.
Sonshine Kids
Pray that the families that are dysfunctional will experience God’s healing and forgiveness during this time.
Pray for the families whose parents have lost their jobs and are experiencing financial difficulties to experience the deliverance from the Lord and breakthroughs.

We thank God for the successful live stream of Encountering the Holy Land last Saturday and the participants who have joined us. Let us continue to pray for:

Prepare Yourself for Online Worship
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
We know a lot of our messaging these past weeks, based on the government advisories, have led to a bit of confusion as at first, we could meet in groups no bigger than 250, then a maximum of 10, and now only with our immediate families.
We thank God for technology that has allowed us to meet online. It wasn't too long ago that we were thrilled by WhatsApp and video calls which are now part of everyday life. So let's continue to "meet together" online.
We can also "spur one another on" through social media, messaging apps, and good old telephone calls.
