Emotional intelligence is the capacity to blend thinking and feeling to make optimal decisions hence helping individuals to develop a successful relationship between self and others.

By being emotionally intelligent, you will have greater self-awareness in managing your thoughts and feelings, the ability to recognize and understand the emotions of others and rationalizing yourself effectively when facing challenges. In this talk, the following topics will be covered:

  • What is Emotional Intelligence (EQ)?

  • How does EQ help us in our daily work?

  • Tips on managing emotions in the current COVID-19 stay home or work place at home situation

In this current COVID-19 situation, many of us are trying to cope with being shut in, adjusting to spending long periods of time at home with family members. With virtual work from home in place, colleagues and keeping schedules for work have put many of us in new emotional and stress modes. This FOC online talk teaches us the techniques of managing our EQ to keep our relationships strong so that we can better cope with the challenges.

MWS - Bless 1,000 families impacted by COVID-19

All of us are suffering in different ways, various degrees, due to COVID-19. But low-income families are suffering more due to drop in wages or job loss which aggravate already trying circumstances. Most of us can still afford to give something to help. Please consider giving a gift of any amount here: bit.ly/2K7jy2U

ROAD Through Exodus Reading Plan

We are continuing our Bible Reading Plan with Exodus from Monday, 27 April 20. Over the next 9 weeks, we will explore God’s hand and God’s plan in the lives of the Israelites using ROAD – Read God’s word; Observe what He is telling you; Apply it to your life or situation; Do what is necessary to carry out God’s instruction for you.

Circuit Breaker Devotions With Your Pastors

If you have missed the online videos of our Pastors connecting with you through the sharing of devotions daily from 8.00am this past week on PLMC Facebook, don’t miss this week’s!

Using ROAD, do your devotions on the day’s passage in the Bible Reading Plan. You’ll get to share what the Lord has spoken to you about the daily passage of scripture, and engage with others on their comments, too.

PRAYER FOCUS

GENERAL

(Click arrow to expand & read more)

As the pandemic wears on, let us be on the lookout for things we can thank and praise the Lord for while we bring our many concerns to Him. Thank Him:

  • For blessing our country with the resources to take care of its citizens and all who have been infected.

  • For all who are working very hard to contain the spread of the virus.

  • For those who have generously come forward to extend a helping hand to those in need.

  • For the many who have been healed and are now reunited with their loved ones.

  • For technology that has enabled us to work, study, order our groceries and food and be entertained from home.

As the Circuit Breaker measures keep us at home, let us also pray:

  • For more help for those who have lost their Jobs and are struggling to put food on the table.

  • For help for those who are unable to cope with the boredom and loneliness.

  • For the elderly and disabled who may need help to buy groceries and food, etc.

  • For creativity and patience for parents who have to juggle between work and looking after their children.

  • For the spirit of give and take as families learn to share resources and space at home.

  • For the migrant workers who are now required to remain in their dorms that God will calm their fears and anxieties and meet them at their need as many of them have been infected.

  • Above all, for God to show us what He wants us to learn from this pandemic.

Thank you for your partnership in prayer!

Living Out Hebrews 10:24-25

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

We know a lot of our messaging these past weeks, based on the government advisories, have led to a bit of confusion as at first, we could meet in groups no bigger than 250, then a maximum of 10, and now only with our immediate families.

We thank God for technology that has allowed us to meet online. It wasn't too long ago that we were thrilled by WhatsApp and video calls which are now part of everyday life. So let's continue to "meet together" online.

We can also "spur one another on" through social media, messaging apps, and good old telephone calls.
