What if a toy can become part of the LGBT+ movement?  

The illustration and t-shirts are an attempt to relate the issue of gender discrimination through toys with the contemporary movement of the LGBT+ community. The metaphorical speculation imagines a toy wearing a dress representing Pride in rainbow colours. It stimulates the problem behind categorizing toys in terms of gender and specifying them with biased societal colours, pink and blue. In this vision, the toy, as a living being, supports the fight for freedom, identity, and expression.

The t-shirts were used to support the Pride celebrations in Lisbon in 2023, which initiated some interesting discussions with different people. Altogether, the idea explores the vast agents related to the problem of gender discrimination intervening in the support from and to the present-day contextualization and celebrations.  

E se um brinquedo puder fazer parte do movimento LGBTQ+?   

A ilustração e as t-shirts são uma tentativa de relacionar as questões da discriminação de género através de brinquedos com o movimento contemporâneo da comunidade LGBTQ+. A especulação metafórica imagina um brinquedo com um vestido que representa o Orgulho nas cores do arco-íris. Estimula o problema subjacente à categorização dos brinquedos em termos de género e à sua especificação com cores sociais estereotipadas, o rosa e o azul. Nesta visão, o brinquedo enquanto ser vivo apoia a luta pela liberdade, identidade e expressão.  

As t-shirts foram usadas para apoiar as celebrações do Orgulho em Lisboa em 2023, o que deu início a algumas discussões interessantes com diferentes pessoas. No seu conjunto, a ideia explora os vastos agentes relacionados com a problemática da discriminação de género, intervindo no apoio desde e até à contextualização e celebrações actuais.
