What is plaster boarding?
Plaster boarding is sometimes referred to as dry lining (however this only actually refers to a particular type of plaster boarding). It is when you use plasterboard as the backing plaster for a wall. This can be fixed to walls and ceilings using a few different methods. Ceilings can sometimes be over boarded, you can screw plasterboard to stud walls and lowered ceilings and you can also stick plasterboard to brick/block walls using plasterboard adhesive (Often referred to as the dot and dab method)
Is plaster boarding right for me?
If you are renovating a property and have no plaster on the walls or have had to take it back to brick or if you require a stud / partition wall or a lowered ceiling then you may need plaster boarding work before any skimming can be carried out.
