What is Internal Wall Insulation?
Internal Wall Insulation (or IWI) is a process that involves insulation being applied to the interior face of external walls to prevent heat loss by up to 60%. This allows your rooms to stay warm in winter and keep your heating bill down, preventing black spot mould, and getting rid of damp.
Is Internal Wall Insulation right for me?
Do you have an old build house that feels cold in winter, even when you put the heating on? Walls with black spot mould? Damp in parts of your home? If you said yes to any of these and live in Lancashire then Internal Wall Insulation may be for you. As said above, Internal Wall Insulation can prevent heat loss by up to 60%.

Above is a timeline of an IWI job that we did in Blackburn. On this particular job we were dealing with a dormer with a timber frame. Therefore we removed the old boards which did have some insulating properties but nothing in comparison to the products on the market. We then infilled the timbers with PIR insulation. We then used something called an XPS board instead of plasterboards. This is because they carry 7 times the thermal value of a standard plasterboard. Finally we reskimmed the wall to a high standard. It's really important to understand that each job is vey different. There are a number of different products (PIR, XPS, Cork insulation and more) that can be used in IWI and not all fit for all houses. This is why it is recommended to seek a professional who specialises in Internal Wall Insulation. We are a Spray Cork UK approved applicator and our work comes with a guarantee. Testimonial
"Matt has done an absolutely fantastic job installing internal wall insulation to increase thermal retention in our freezing house. He worked relentlessly over several days, protecting the floors, knocking off blown plaster, straightening out all the worst areas of a badly boarded ceiling, installing new angle beads, covering our badly cracked walls with fibre glass tape, priming the walls & skimming all the walls and ceiling.
We are very impressed with the quality of his work and will definitely use him for all our plastering needs in future.
Recommend without a doubt."
