Survey Data

Survey Results

To get information about the relevancy of our project we surveyed people in the stores Home Depot and Lowes, as well as plant nurseries. The collection of this data was to find out: how much of a problem people had taking care of plants, how busy our audience was, the main issues in maintaining plants, and if they were interested in our potential solution.

From the data we collected it was found that our main audience is millennials and elders who have rather busy lives with a wide range of issues they run into. Most of the people we surveyed wanted something to improve their watering consistency while some of the individuals who answered no already had watering systems implemented. We also found that most people have had difficulty sustaining their plant's health, at least once. Paired with the data that many people are busy throughout the day leads us to believe that sometimes people forget which is understandable. Water also seems to be the main issue when it comes to keeping plants healthy, which was expected due to our previous research. However, it appeared that soil was also something that people were having difficulty with. We decided that water was still the direction we wanted to go because from what we found water seemed to me the overarching issue.

This information helps support our project and now targets people who are busy with their daily activities, have trouble keeping their plants alive, and want to improve their watering consistency and form the right habits to do so.
