Throughout my time at Edison, my skills in collaboration and leadership have improved since my first year here. I’ve grown as a leader, where I have learned to help and guide others in and out of the classroom with help from the encouragement from my teachers and friends. I only hope to improve and further my skills over the course of this project by taking on a leadership role. I also plan to help guide our team so we can collaborate and communicate efficiently throughout this year to best achieve our goals.

In projects and in planning through my schooling, I have found that I am quite passive whereas I teeter between taking less of an individual role where I am just a team member who goes along with whatever is decided for me or placed in roles were I am to be a leader to my team and direct my team where to go and what to do. I want take on a more leading role this time around putting myself under the role of Chief Project Manager and improve on skills where I am lacking, those being decision making, managing and planning out a project, I want to be able to help my team carry out this project and solve our problem with our fullest efforts. 

Leadership, collaboration, design, and fun, are all things I have learned to do during my time here at Edison. I have regularly pushed myself to become someone that can learn and adapt to new things, through both my classes and extracurriculars. My role here is to help elevate our brand into something remarkable, which is very exciting. I will personally design our portfolio to be inviting through the use of color and organization, I will arrange our documents to fit our needs, and when we create a solution I will make sure that it is met with positive input through its design; this will ensure that our goals and values are reflected through our brand. I always do my best when it comes to these projects but time tends to run out. Life and other school work get in the way of my goals and I struggle to find balance. I am already trying to be more organized and less distracted by the things around me, but I know I still have things to learn. But even with that, I still remain eager to learn about new things - it is a big motivator in the things that I do. I am here on this team to do my part, but I am also here to excel. I am dedicated to learning more, improving my skills, and being a part of our success.

I have always taken opportunities to improve my communication skills, to help me become more comfortable with public speaking. Edison has given me several opportunities to help improve my public speaking skills like public speaking competitions, taking courses where public speaking is required, and joining social clubs. I have always ensured the quality in my own work to be the best it can be and have developed great organizational skills over the past few years at Edison that I can apply to my role of chief quality officer. However, I am still a bit timid in speaking at times and hope with this role I can help improve my communication skills by communicating with my teammates and potential mentors/sponsors to ensure the quality of the project and to ensure our group gets the proper funds for our project.
