Color Guard
The Plano West Color Guard Team is an extracurricular JROTC team responsible for presenting the Colors in regional drill meets. The members of Color Guard practice drill and ceremony (in accordance to TC 3-21.5), proper wearing of the uniform (in accordance to AR 670-1 and CCR 145-2) and focuses heavily on uniformity, precision, and perfection, making it one of the hardest teams to qualify for.
The Color Guard is a four-member formation consisting of two flag bearers and two guards. The American Flag is carried by the Color Guard Team Commander. The Texas Flag is carried by another member of the Color Guard, as well as the remaining American Guard and Texas Guard (both armed with M1903 Springfield Rifles). All members must be well trained in basic drill and ceremony before entering the team.
There is one individual team, mixed with both males and females.
