Teams

This page highlights our Panther Battalion special teams. These teams are the Battalion's extracurricular teams that practice after school and compete at drill meets throughout the year. There are currently eight teams in the Battalion.

Color Guard

Color guard is one of the most visible parts of the Battalion as they present and post the colors at events and during competitions. Color Guard is follows strict interpretation of TC 3-21.5, the regulation covering Drill and Ceremony. The Varsity Color Guards perform and compete in regional Drill meets and is split into the male and female teams.

Leadership Team

The leadership team studies the fundamentals of leadership, JROTC curriculum on a more advanced level (compared to Academic Team), and US military history. They compete in the annual online Army JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl (JLABs).

Physical Training Team

The physical training team focuses on improving overall physical fitness and participate in 5 events: push ups, sit ups, pull ups, and running (usually 4x100 yards relay races).

The PT team also trains to compete in regional Drill Meets, which usually consists of the events mentioned above.

Drone Team

The Drone Team combines STEM education, flight precision, and tactical planning as Cadets master small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS). Cadets learn flight mechanics, safety protocols, FAA regulations, and manual obstacle navigation alongside automated flight programming. The Varsity Drone Team competes in regional and national JROTC drone tournaments featuring timed obstacle courses, precision payload drops, and autonomous flight challenges.

Robotics Team

The Robotics Team integrates engineering, computer programming, and tactical problem-solving as Cadets design, build, and code custom robots. Cadets apply STEM principles, dynamic strategy, and mechanics to complete complex game challenges under time constraints. The Varsity Robotics Team competes in regional and national JROTC robotics tournaments in driver-controlled matches and autonomous programming challenges.

Color Guard

The Saber Guard serves as an elite ceremonial unit responsible for rendering honors at formal Battalion and school functions. Precision movements, flawless sword protocol, and sharp uniforms make this unit a centerpiece at events like Military Ball, homecoming arches, and community ceremonies. Cadets learn specialized ceremonial manual-of-arms to present a polished image of the Corps.
