Teams

This page highlights our Panther Battalion special teams. These teams are the Battalion's extracurricular teams that practice after school and compete at drill meets throughout the year. There are currently seven teams in the Battalion.

Air Rifle Team

The Air Rifle Team is a marksmanship program that is dedicated to practicing safety in everything they do. They shoot from three positions: prone, kneeling, and standing.

There are two teams, the beginner Sporter team who shoot the Daisy Rifles, and the more experienced Precision Team, who shoot Crossman Rifles.

Color Guard

Color guard is one of the most visible parts of the Battalion as they present and post the colors at events and during competitions. Color Guard is follows strict interpretation of TC 3-21.5, the regulation covering Drill and Ceremony. The Varsity Color Guards perform and compete in regional Drill meets and is split into the male and female teams.

Drill Team

The Drill team performs marches and performs with demilitarized M1903 Springfield Rifles. 

The drill teams practices two different types of drill: Regulation drill, or drill according to TC 3-21.5, and exhibition drill, which is more freestyle, and involves spins and throws.

Leadership Team

The leadership team studies the fundamentals of leadership, JROTC curriculum on a more advanced level (compared to Academic Team), and US military history. They compete in the annual online Army JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl (JLABs).

Physical Training Team

The physical training team focuses on improving overall physical fitness and participate in 5 events: push ups, sit ups, pull ups, and running (usually 4x100 yards relay races). 

The PT team also trains to compete in regional Drill Meets, which usually consists of the events mentioned above.
