Welcome to the Plano West Wolf Battalion!

This is the official website of the JROTC program for Plano West Senior High School.

The Wolf Battalion consists of cadets from three schools:

• Plano West Senior High

• Shepton High School

• Jasper High School

The Wolf Battalion has sustained the Honor Unit with Distinction (Gold Star) for 25 years, since its foundation (1999)

The battalion is in the top 10% of all Army JROTC battalions around the world.

The Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) program is a federal program sponsored by the United States Armed Forces in high schools. It was originally created as part of the National Defense Act of 1916 under Woodrow Wilson, and later expanded under the 1964 ROTC Vitalization Act under President Lyndon B. Johnson.

Wolfpack Vision Statement: The Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) Wolfpack Battalion will provide a quality citizenship, character, and leadership development program, while fostering partnerships with communities and educational institutions.

Wolfpack Philosophical Mission: To Motivate Young People to Be Better Citizens

• We do not recruit for any military service.

• JROTC teaches high school students the value of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment, while instilling in them self-esteem, teamwork, and self-discipline.

The mission of the Wolf Battalion is to provide, in cooperation with parents and the community, a quality, caring, educational environment that acts as a medium in the development of responsible, ethical, and motivated graduates who are: critical thinkers, self-motivated adults, creative problem solvers, sensitive to cultural diversity, productive citizens and leaders, and able to adapt in a rapidly changing world. The program doesn't require any military service.

Wolf Battalion Goals: ■ 100% Graduation rate of all cadets

■ 5% or greater reoccurring recruiting every semester

■ Greater than or equal to 85% of events with Image coverage (Including Publishing)

■ Growth of the PWSHS JROTC Teams' attendance and participation by 10% by EOY

■ Sustain high-quality Cadet and Noncommissioned Officer of the Month Boards

■ Establish and manage a company points framework for Best Company selection at EOY

■ Establish a reliable and functional Monthly Newsletter

The JROTC curriculum focuses on teaching cadets lifelong skills, leadership, and the values of good citizenship and community involvement. The Wolf Battalion participates in community events and assists other organizations throughout the Plano community.

The Wolf Battalion is divided into five companies: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Headquarters. The companies are further split into two sections: Lower Classmen (Freshmen and Sophomores) and Upperclassmen (Juniors and Seniors). This site will highlight the leadership in each company.

There are also extracurricular activities offered in the battalion, through the Wolf Battalion Special Teams. There are six teams in the Battalion:
