Ait Bouguemez valley Trek - 5 days
The Imazighen people are the indigenous of North Africa. The Berbers history dating back over 4000 years ago. Most of them settled in the Mountains of Morocco practicing pastoralism. The Aït Bouguemez valley, enclosed by the towering desolate High Atlas Mountains, is a beautiful patchwork of fields stretched across the banks of a river. Dotted around the fields and on low lying slopes of the mountains, Berber villages continue a traditional way of life.

Day 1: Marrakech - Azilal - Ait Bouguemez
After an early breakfast, we set off to the beautiful Bougmez valley, a five-hour journey. Drive to visit Ouzoud Waterfalls and have a picnic lunch there or in Azilal city. The tour continues to the village called Arouss. We meet our mule team at the Valley and spend the night in a local Guesthouse.
Day 2: Agouti - Ait Imi
After breakfast, we start our hike in the morning and meet villagers working in the fields. We cross different cultures on the terrace and bypass several villages. Lunch under the substantial walnut trees, we continue to the Ait Imi Source site. Camping in tents. 5 hours of trekking.
Day 3: Ait Imi - Adazen pass - Ifran village
Leaving the source after breakfast to explore the famous dinosaur footprints. We then proceed to the village of R'bat and trek upwards to the pass. Adazen Pass offers a spectacular view of the Valley. After lunch, we descend to the other side of the Valley and camp overnight in tents close to Ifran village. 5-hour walk.
Day 4: Ifran village - visit lake Izoughar (2600 m) & back to Zaouite Almzi village
We leave Ifrane village very early morning for the Lake. We'll cross cultures on the terrace bypassing other villages, then take a path that leads to the Lake. After lunch, we walk back down to Zaouit Almzi. 6 hours walking.
Day 5: Ait Bouguemez valley - Marrakech
We head back to Marrakech early in the morning after breakfast, overnight in the hotel.
