Scotty has been paddling since his 7th grade summer Canadian canoe camp days, circa 1978, and holds certifications for whitewater kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) for both flat and whitewater, and is a Swiftwater Rescue Technician course instructor. Among his more notable accomplishments is the record-setting 82 mile SUP trip from Jackson Lake Dam to the Palisades Reservoir in 16 hours, a record that stands to this day.
