Our Journey Through Hard Times
by: Jhonny Compuesto
Every day, the path of our life changes us. We face different challenges. Having a problem in our life is normal, but finding a solution to your problem is hard. Sometimes, it will bring you to the lowest point of your life. Today, I will share my experience when I was a kid, when our problem brought all of us to the lowest point of our lives.
When I was a kid in my elementary days, I was in Grade 4. At that time, my life was so happy because my only problem was my homework. Every time recess and lunch came, all I thought about was playing outside. Even though it was very hot, no one could stop me from playing outside. I was wrong when I said to myself that life was just about playing and enjoying it every time. One afternoon, when I arrived at our house, a big problem came rushing to my ears when I heard that we needed to live in another place. My mind was full of questions at that time. Why did we need to live in another place? As I asked my mother, she told me everything with sadness in her eyes.
When my father came home from the farm, he looked very tired. My mother told my father the big problem, and he almost cried, but he hide it because he didn't want us to see him crying. When the day came for us to leave our house because of the road widening, we didn't have enough money to build a new house. So, the solution we made was to build a small house next to our grandparents' house. At that time, our house was like a little kubo. My family and I planted vegetables and fruits to earn money so we could build a new house, and we also sold our rice field. Time to time we save enough money to build a new house, and that's how we found a solution to our problem.
When my Father Got Sick
by: Angela Besido
The lowest point of my life was when my father had to go to the hospital. I felt very scared when I found out that he was sick. I did not know what was going to happen, and I kept thinking about him. When we arrived at the hospital, I saw my father in the hospital bed. I felt nervous and sad. I wanted to help him, but I did not know what I could do. I just stayed with my family and waited.
While we were waiting, I kept hoping that my father would get better. I tried to stay strong, but I was very worried inside. I prayed that the doctors would help him and that everything would be okay. After some time, we received news about my father. Even though I was still worried, I felt a little better knowing that he was getting care. My family stayed together and supported each other during that difficult time.
That experience was one of the hardest moments of my life. It taught me to appreciate my father and my family more. I learned that we should spend time with the people we love because we never know when difficult times may come.
