Manobo people western part of Sultan Kudarat Province. Manobo tribe is rich in traditional practices, medicinal uses, diversity, and traditional knowledge with community plant resources. They are settled in the lands of Sarangani island into the mainland.

The Manobo tribe is traced back to early Malay people in which came from the surrounding islands of Southeast Asia. Manobo tribe is believed in being the first batch came in the islands as they look temporary settlement traveling through land bridges as the Philippines.
Manobo is the Spanish afluent spelling of the term Manuvu (also spelled Menuvu or Minuvu). Its root is unclear; in its current form, it means "person" or "people." It is believed that it is derived from the rootword tuvu "to grow"/"growth"

Traditionally, Manobos wear only bark cloth to cover genitalia. In modernization, they now obtain western clothing. Heavily embroidered traditional Manobo costume are now presented only on special occasions. Traditional fabric was abaca, weaved by the ikat process; fabric used now is cotto cloth obtained through trade.

There are two kinds of Article of Clothing of Manobo Tribe:
Sawa/Sawal or trousers for men; one for working which is close fitting and plain, and one for festive occasions which is square cut and embroidered in typical colors.
There are two kinds of skirts for women; Saya which is wide and knee-length, and Malong made out of cotton cloth.
