We will be discussing, reviewing, and voting on changes at our September meeting.
For Your Convenience, Brass Tacks of the Changes:
Allow meetings to happen every other month or quarterly, if necessary, if the neighborhood is notified in advance. Everyone is busy and meeting monthly can be both time consuming and unnecessary when there isn't a lot to discuss. We may also have better turn out if meetings are less frequent.
Board meetings would allow for in-person or virtual.
Because we haven't had volunteers to operate the "Standard Committees" we've eliminated the requirement for those committees. The Residents Committee hasn't been removed, but it allows the board to manage/perform Residence Committee responsibilities, if necessary.
The Civic Club general meeting is the Second Thursday of every month at 7:00pm. It takes place at the community center.
Agenda: Call to Order, Pledge, Minutes, Budget Report, Old Business, Reports from various committees, New Business, Open Floor, 50/50 Raffle, Adjourn
Current Pimlico Board:
Jana Jones, Matt Peterson, Andy Rickett, Michelle Jones, Dave Sinclair, Jamie West, Glenn Emerick, Blair Smith, Otoo Kaske, Trae Simmons, Jack Howerton
FY26 Starts July 1! (Dues can be dropped off at the community center drop box or sent via Venmo @Pimlico-Plantation)

Plan a Fundraiser!
Find an applicable grant and help us apply!
Help us get quotes for the children's park!
Volunteers are responsible for planning and executing our wonderful events. Unfortunately, some of those volunteers have moved on. If you'd like to plan a neighborhood event, please attend a Thursday meeting or reach out to a board member.
How can you help with events?
Lead the charge
Assist the leader
Contribute donations to the events fund
Be positive and appreciative! Rude comments on social media drive event planning volunteers away, so be kind and respectful.
After several years of navigating paperwork, fundraising hurdles, and collecting more quotes than a home improvement show, we’re excited to announce that the Pimlico dock and floating dock project is officially complete!
A huge thank-you to all the Civic Club board members and wonderful neighbors who donated their time, talent, and perhaps a bit of their sanity to see this through. We’re also especially grateful to our county officials for their guidance and support throughout the process—this project wouldn’t have made it off dry land without you.
Thanks to everyone who helped turn this long-standing plan into a dock you can actually stand on!
Thank you to all the neighbors who attended several months of meetings to discuss and later vote on some updated rules.
There will be cameras installed in order to protect our very expensive, new upgrade. The cameras will be accessed when there is an issue, such as theft, vandalism, etc.
RULES AND REGULATIONS CAN BE FOUND HERE: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_5Fz-WE9bX41VM3m6Ky7Ssu-MfYgkyJ5/view?usp=sharing
We are raising money for the needed improvements around the neighborhood.
If you'd like to donate, please feel free to leave a personal check in the drop box on the community center. Put "improvements donation" in the notes section.
VENMO donations to: @Pimlico-Plantation and indicate in the notes that it is a donation. We will default all donations to immediate needs or the fundraiser for the next big initative
We need volunteers to LEAD fundraisers! If you'd like to lead a fundraiser, please let us know.
UPDATE: The variance passed.
A Pimlico Neighborhood Store is in the works on the corner of Churchill and Pimlico Blvd. There is a county variance meeting on May 21st. This is what is being discussed and voted on at that meeting:
Option One - YES for the Variance- The variance will allow the owner/engineers to have fewer parking spots. The county rules require 22 spots. This variance allows for fewer parking spots so that there is more room for green space. Most spaces will be gravel, except for handicap parking to allow for better drainage. Additionally, the entrance/exit on Churchill would be smaller. This inhibits delivering trucks or larger trucks/cars entering and exiting on Churchill.
Option Two - NO for the variance. The owner will be required to pave more of the property to accommodate for the 22 parking spots. The owner will be required to have a larger entrance/exit on the Churchill Side.
NOTE: This plat does not fall under Pimlico's Covenants and Restrictions. They are not subject to our C&Rs.
Additional Information that was communicated to the Civic Club by the owner and engineering firm:
The store will not sell drug paraphernalia or liquor. It will sell beer, wine, and tobacco products. There will be propane tank exchange, but no propane or gas tanks on the property. They will sell various types of bait. There will be a small kitchen for sandwiches, chicken, etc.
The store will not have any external advertising. The owner said it will be a community store. If the residents of Pimlico want the owners to carry specific items, please let them know.
The store owners have increased landscaping/foliage, will have lighting that directs light away from houses, and will have several security cameras. There will be no loitering signs and owners will call police if there is loitering or drinking on the property.
The Civic Club met with the county and the Special Tax District to discuss the drainage after heavy rains.
The county is waiting on DHEC approval/permits to clear out the drainage creek on the bluff side of Pimlico Blvd.
Berkeley County Roads and Bridges is asking for more information on drainage issues in Pimlico. We are asked to provide information of areas where it floods.
PLEASE assist with this buy collecting your photos of recent drainage issues. Edit the photo to include an address on the photo (an example is on this page). Upload your photo to the document on the left OR, if you can't get to the form, send the photos via email to pimliconeighborhood@gmail.com
