The current Covenants and Restrictions state that livestock is not allowed in Pimlico. In 1979 and 1996 when they were written, the term "livestock" included poulty. The legal term changed in 2002. Additionally, Berkeley County recently changed their rules on chickens/hens.
So, we held a neighborhood vote regarding hens in Pimlico.
39% of neighbors voted YES. (131 Votes)
61% of neighbord voted NO. (205 Votes)
The status quo remains. Chickens will not be permitted in Pimlico.
The Civic Club will not be taking legal action upon neighbors for issues that impact small numbers of people. Our goal is to utilize funds for items that will make big impact on Pimlico. Therefore, if a neighbor has an issue with another neighbor and their choices or failure to follow the C&R, it is recommended that you speak to your neighbor or call the county.
