Dr. Rachael Sirois, VMD originally from Massachusetts, received her Bachelor of Science from Stonehill College, just outside of Boston. Prior to attending veterinary school, Dr. Sirois pursued a two-year Master’s degree program where she received her Master of Science in Biological Sciences with a focus on molecular biology. Her research and basis for her thesis involved genome sequencing of the equine gastrointestinal microbiome in response to treatment for intestinal parasites.

Following graduate school, Dr. Sirois attended and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, where she had a mixed animal focus. Dr. Sirois served as a rotating intern in general medicine and surgery at BluePearl Veterinary Hospital in New York City before starting her residency. In July 2021, Dr. Sirois completed her three-year residency in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Sirois’ clinical interests include chronic renal disease, immune-mediated conditions, and extracorporeal therapy. Dr. Sirois currently works in the Department of Internal Medicine at Guardian Veterinary Specialists in Brewster, New York. 

Dr. Sirois is the owner of a Philly street cat, adopted during veterinary school. Outside of work, she enjoys swimming, tennis, and hopes to be able to get back into classical music as she has played the violin for almost twenty years.
