David Russell is an enthralled undergraduate laboratory researcher, who since 2021, continues to investigate the identification of a genomic target within Necator americanus. The purpose of which is for use in the development of a soil-transmitted helminth (STH) identification point-of-collection capable molecular tool; improving portability whilst maintaining specificity.

 

Following commencement in May 2023 with his Bachelor’s in Science in Biology, David is continuing his laboratory competencies whilst pursuing a Master’s in Science in Molecular and Cell Biology through 2024 as a 3+1 dual-degree student. David is determined to enter medical school, maintaining his passions in medical and cancer genetics.

 

David is ever-elated to have the opportunity and privilege to work alongside Dr. Nils Pilotte and fellow laboratory members.
