Creating Pikmin
Onions consume raw pieces of meat to produce Pikmin seeds. To give a piece of meat to an onion, right-click the conical beam below the onion with the meat in hand and the onion will start spurting out sprouts over the top. You can give it any type of raw meat as well as rotten flesh or skeleton bones. Farming pellet posies are also a consistent way to spawn pikmin (see the Pellet Posies page for more information)
While on the ground, the sprouts will go through 3 growth stages: Initially the sprout is in leaf stage but if you wait for 5 min (1/4 of a day cycle), the sprout will grow into a bud. If you wait a further 5 min, the sprout will grow into a flower. Each subsequent stage will produce an increasingly powerful Pikmin; for further details, see the Pikmin Types page. Tip: If you do no want to wait for flower pikmin to grow, you can use honey bottles on leaf or bud Pikmin to instantly turn them into flowers.
If you are ready to pluck the sprouts, [right click] the sprout and a Pikmin will pop out in front of you!
Storing Pikmin
To put pikmin into your onion, [shift] + [right click] on the conical beam below the onion with the glove of the appropriate colour equipped. Flower pikmin will be placed in first, then buds and then leaves.
To take the pikmin out of the onion, [right click] the conical beam below the onion with the glove. Again, flower pikmin will be taken out first, then buds then leaves.
