The 2026-27 campaign will focus on organizing 2000+ advocacy actions network-wide to protect US global health funding and improve the global health workforce through the SECURE Act (H.R.8011). We hope to see 650+ peak advocacy actions, including in-district or virtual MoC meetings, published media, town halls, and other large events, as well as 1395+ assist advocacy actions, including calls, emails, and letters to Congress.

Global Health Oversight
Global Health Oversight
On August 10, 2026, over 300 Engagers met with the offices of their Members of Congress in Washington, D.C. to educate offices on the withholding of global health funding and the CDC PEPFAR crisis. Participating in over 180 Congressional meetings, Engagers obtained 138 sign-ons to a letter regarding global health funding oversight, which was sent to the Office of Management and Budget and the State Department.
SECURE Health Act
SECURE Health Act
The Strengthening Capacity for Unified Response and Excellence (SECURE) in Health Act (H.R. 8011) was introduced by lead sponsor Rep. Jen Kiggans (R-VA-2) and co-sponsor Rep. Ami Bera (D-CA-6) in the House. The bill would strengthen and better coordinate US support for frontline health workers across global health and humanitarian programs. Engagers are meeting with Congressional offices to garner support for our global health workforce.
