I am the Chairperson of the Engineering Research, Ethics and Quality Assurance Committee (EREQAC) that oversees all staff, mentors students and participates in industry engineering research projects within the Faculty of Engineering, Science and Health.
I have onboarded and mentored 7 part-time academics within the School of Engineering.
I actively mentor the Tutors within the Engineering Learning Centre (ELC) for the modules where I am either a Lecturer or Head of Programme.
I am the responsible Academic for marketing and excursions within the IIE MSA Engineering Society and actively participated in multiple excursions during 2022.
I was one of five engineering mentors who assisted undergraduate engineering students with projects and concepts. The group consisted of Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Civil engineering, and Mechanical Engineering engineers. I represented the Mechanical engineering section of the mentoring group under the supervision of the student advisor for the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment at the University of Johannesburg.
I was the tutor for the 3rd year Mechanical Engineering course in Fluid Dynamics, where I worked for Dr. S. Kruger. I was responsible for three different practical experiments during the semester: Potential flow, Compressibility in duct flow, and boundary layer flow. My duties also included marking student reports and student assistance during the semester.
I was the tutor for the 2nd year Mechanical Engineering course in Material Science, where I worked for Prof. R.F. Laubscher. I was responsible for one of the practical experiments during the semester that covered the topic of resistivity. I was also in charge of marking practical reports for this practical.
I was the tutor for the 4th year Mechanical Engineering course in Thermofluids, where I worked for Dr. S. Kruger. I was responsible for marking semester projects and marking and conducting an experiment for a closed- and open-loop HVAC system.
I was the tutor for the 3rd year Mechanical Engineering course in Machine Theory, where I worked for Dr C.R. Bester. I was responsible for marking semester projects and online practicals.
I was the tutor for the 4th year Mechanical Engineering course in Thermomachines, where I worked for Dr C.R. Bester. I was responsible for marking semester projects and conducting and evaluating an experiment to determine the calorific values of different commercially available diesel samples.
