I designed, built and used a custom-built low-cycle in-plane bending fatigue machine as part of my master’s degree at the University of Johannesburg. This machine is fully automated and implemented to simulate any cantilever beam fatigue analysis for a maximum applied load of 3000N.
I designed, built and used a rotating-bending fatigue machine to analyse specimen deformation (and crack growth) in a real-time testing environment. This machine is designed with the support of Sigmatek Automation GmbH & Co. KG, Austria. This machine will become part of future Capstone research projects at IIE MSA.
I was part of a team that disassembled telecommunication masts/towers in the greater Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo regions as a sub-contractor for Telkom SA.
I designed and manufactured extended reaction arm attachments for Enerpac hydraulic torque wrench systems. The reaction arm assisted the operator in removing bolts and nuts on industrial machines used in the mining industry.
I was part of the design and manufacturing team involved with structural engineering projects for Vodacom.
I was part of a small design team at an Engineering consultancy firm where I was the site manager on research and design projects for Anglo-America / De Beers. I also did numerous design and Finite Element Analyses for the mining, automotive and automation industries.
