Quilt Receiving (drop off) and Dispersal (pick up)
Receiving/drop off is 6:00-7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2024; lobby of Knox County YMCA
Each quilt will receive an Exhibitor's Receipt.
You MUST SAVE THIS RECEIPT. A quilt will not be returned without it.
Fold your quilt with the wrong side out, bottom right-hand corner exposed, label attached (sewn on, pinned, basted) that has your name and quilt name on it, and an extra safety pin placed in that corner.
Dispersal/pick up will begin on Sunday, August 4, 2024, after tear down has been completed - approximately 5 or 5:30 p.m.
Quilts will not be released until tear down is complete.
Lots of help is needed for tear down, and you can still sign up to help.
If you cannot help with the tear down, you can arrive between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. on Sunday to pick up your quilt(s).
Whoever picks up your quilts (you, a friend, a family member) must present the Exhibitor’s Receipt for that quilt to claim it.

Selling Raffle Tickets via Venmo
The buyer must have a Venmo account (accounts are super easy to set up, but it does take two business days because you have to verify a couple small electronic transactions on a new account to link it to your Venmo profile.)
"Customers" can look for us in Venmo by name: Piecemakers Quilt Guild or the user name @Piecemakers-QuiltGuild and send us the money.
The trick is the buyer should include YOUR NAME and “raffle tickets” in the comments to ensure you receive credit for the tickets sold. We’ll let you know when the funds are received
It’s a good idea to fill out the raffle tickets with buyer's info, take a photo, and email it or text it to the buyer.
Reach out to Annette Pickrel (annette.pickrel@gmail.com or 309-368-5168) if you have questions about how that works or how you can offer that to friends and family.
Hanging Sleeve
Quilts over 48" in width must have a hanging sleeve. Extra long quilts must have the sleeve in place at least 90" from the bottom of the quilt so it will not drag on the floor. The sleeve must be a 4" wide pocket across the top of your quilt, just under the binding.
Cut fabric 8 ½" x the width of your quilt; hem each end.
Fold in half and seam down the entire length.
Press seam open in center of tube (do not turn–leave the seam on the outside of the tube).
Place top fold next to binding and hand sew in place being careful at all times not to catch the front of your quilt.
Roll the bottom fold up about 1/4" before sewing in place to allow room for the hanging rod/poll.
Sew down the ends of the sleeve that are closest to the quilt itself to allow for easy insertion of the hanger. It is acceptable to use safety pins to pin the sleeve to the back of your quilt instead of sewing the sleeve in place.
These two videos show the same kind of sleeve as described above, but with a different, nifty method for making room for the hanging rod/poll:
Quilt Entry Guidelines & Registration
Registration deadline is July 1.
Quilt must be quilted through all three layers.
Quilt can not have been in a previous Piecemakers Quilt Show.
Quilts must be registered by the June meeting.
Challenge quilts are due at the July meeting and will be judged at the meeting.
Enter your quilts as soon as possible, even if it is still in the planning stages. Don't wait till it's finished; it's easier to pull a quilt out then to add it in at the last minute.
