Our current guild charity project is making quilts for the benefit of local not-for-profit organizations. Quilts are made and donated by guild members, with a quilt auction and raffle set up by the organization. All the proceeds go directly to the organization to help fulfill their mission statement.
In recent years, our donated quilts have benefited Project Dog Park, the Galesburg Community Chorus, the Child Advocacy Center, Galesburg Public Library, and the humane society. Applications are solicited in even-numbered years (due at the end of November); the chosen organization does their auction and raffle in odd numbered-years.
If your not-for-profit organization would like to be a beneficiary of quilts for an auction and raffle, please return a completed application form. Applications are due by November 30.
Quilts can be any size, from crib to bed-size. Guild members can participate in any of these ways:
contributing 12-1/2 x 12-1/2" blocks (any pattern, any colors); others will put these together into quilts
making an entire quilt on your own
coming to our charity quilt work days
You can bring blocks or quilts to any guild meeting or to the charity quilt work days.
